Good day steemians, welcome you my today post. In response to the achievement tasks, I will be doing my achievement task 2 which is basic understanding on steemit security system. Follow me to see what I have here for you.

Every organizational system should guide their projects because any key or passcodes is likely to be stolen.
Every user has its own passcode on this blockchain which is most important.
If any of your keys is compromised or disclosed to other thirt party. Then your acquired tokens (STEEM, SBD, & SP) would be stolen so, it is advisable to keep all your keys safely.

Steemit blockchain has four types of passwords that are used on different operations. Below is an explanation on how they work.

Posting key:

Posting key doesn’t allow monetary actions it is used for social actions. I.e to publish post and comments and we are advised to secure it carefully, ideally offline.

Functions of the posting key:
• it is used for publication
• use for following people
• use for upvotes and downvotes
• use to mute accounts
• use to resteem content
• also, it can be use for editing post and comments

Active key

Active key is use for transferring and exchanging tokens
It’s mainly úsese includes;

• for transferring tokens
• for sbd conversation
• to power steem up or down
• to vote for witness

owner key

This key is used to create or recover other keys. It is the most important key, it should be stored offline carefully

It’s functions includes;
• to decline voting
• to reset other key
• to recover account

memo key

Memo key is not commonly used. It is a key use to decrypt and encrypted messages sent through the blockchain

Functions of the memo key;

• use to receive private messages
• use to view and send encrypted messages

Question 1

Have you retrieve all your keys on steemit? Yes, I have. I retrieved them the first day I created my Account to join the platform.

Question 2

Do you know each of these key functions and restrictions? After studying the four of them I could now affirm that I know their functions and how they work.

Question 3

How do you plan to keep your master passcodes? Saving them offline. it is better you save your keys offline either writing it on a paper or saving it in a flash drive.

Question 4

Do you know how to transfer your steem token to another steem user account? This is a very good question, on this aspect, I have learnt how to transfer steem token to another account. Let me show you below.

Step one Visit your steem wallet and click on any of the token that you want to transfer, it can be SBD or Liquid Steem. Once clicked a drop down menu that has:

• Transfer
• Transfer to savings
• Market
• Buy
• Sell
• Power up.
  Click on transfer and the next step is shown below.

Step two
Once you click on the transfer you will be directed to another page there you will fill out the details which are:

• The recipient name and
• The amount
  Then click on send, you will be asked to put your password to finalize the transactions here, your active key is required to complete this transaction. See image below.

First you will visit your wallet like the previous procedure. Click on transfer a menu will appear, now click on power up, once clicked you will be taken to a page where you would be asked to input the number of steem you wish to power up. Compare the images below.
