ACHIEVEMENT #2: ABOUT BASIC SECURITY ON STEEMIT
Hello, friends! Hope everything is going well!
This is my achievement #2. Now I'm aware of basic keys in steem. And I know that once we lose our password we can’t take them back.
There are five basic keys:
- Posting key
- Active key
- Owner key
- Memo key
- Master key
POSTING KEY :
This posting key, we can use to log in to our steemit account. And then we can use this key for upvoting and downvoting purpose, we can also use this key for commenting on any posts.
ACTIVE KEY :
This active key controls our wallet. That is we can use it to transfer money from our account, send steem to someone, power up, power down.
OWNER KEY :
This is our master password. This key has the ability to send and receive money, upvote, post, comment. In addition to that, it controls and resets our passwords and other keys.
MEMO KEY :
We don’t use this key for logging in. This key is used for controlling private messages and encrypted transactions. We should use a memo key.
MASTER KEY :
We can take all other keys using this key.
HOW TO TRANSFER STEEM DOLLARS TO ANOTHER ACCOUNT
Using the active key password and username we have to log in. We can see the transfer option when we click the arrow near the steem dollars balance. Now enter the amount that has to be transferred, then confirm. Then the amount will be transferred.
