Achievement 6 Task by @babajunior : Understanding Curation and Community
Good day everyone, my task for this achievement post is to Understanding Curation and Community by providing answers to some questions. Below are my findings on the problem at hand.'
Do you understand how voting and curation work in steemit?
There are two types of voting in steemit. They are Upvote and Downvote. Writing good posts, help you receive upvotes from other user whiles if you post bad posts, you will get a downvote from another user. Your steem account depends on the total steem power you own. The more steem power you hold, the more you can distribute rewards from the reward pool. Voting power can be adjusted once you own more than 500 Steem power. There are three types of rewards.
- Producer rewards (Witness gets 1 Steem/block for producing it).
- Curation Reward: Issued to the user for upvoting other quality content (blog)
- Author rewards: Issued to the author for creating quality content (blog)
What happened if you vote a post before 5 minutes marks after posting?
After payout, 50% of the reward goes to the curator and the other 50% goes to the user of the post or comment.
100% of the curation reward will remain in the rewards pool if a post is upvoted immediately after posting.The time of voting of the post determines the percentage the curator receives. Below shows the percentage received for voting before 5 minutes marks after posting.

Who will you vote for Steem Witness ? and Why?
@steemchiller will be the first person I would vote as a steem witness. Steemworld.org was developed by him. It is a tool used to do many important things such as checking incoming and outgoing votes, delegating Steem Power, checking reward summary, and many more. He is ranked number one among other witnesses with Votes of 139.136 PV and only 183 total misses.
