If someone do a creation, publication, song or anything from his own idea, he has a right about that. If I want to take that I should inform him and should take the permission. In addition I must give him a credit. If I take that it is not ethical & it is a hurtful feeling to the author.
In Sri Lanka I have herd some incident in music field which related to the plagiarism.
What is the plagiarism?
According to the University of oxford,

“Plagiarism is presenting someone else’s work or ideas as your own, with or without their consent, by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgement. All published and unpublished material, whether in manuscript, printed or electronic form, is covered under this definition. Plagiarism may be intentional or reckless, or unintentional. Under the regulations for examinations, intentional or reckless plagiarism is a disciplinary offence."

Types of plagiarism
1 If I we copy someone’s words or idea without giving him credit it is a plagiarism
2 If we submit someone’s word or idea as our one it is also a plagiarism.
3 Using someone else idea by mentioning wrong source
4 Using some part of a test from a single source without marking citation

How to avoid plagiarism
1 Cite your source
2 Include quotations
3 Paraphrase
4 Present your own idea
5 Use a plagiarism

We should not do the plagiarism because it is hurting to owner of an idea. Stealing someone else intellectual property is not an ethical way.
So, If we are using other’s idea for our written document, publication or any kind of creation we have to do the citation for avoiding the plagiarism.

“I have read & understood the steemit etiquette on steemit community and will do my best to embrace them.”
