Plagiarism

Plagiarism is very sensitive issue. It is generally mixed up with the copying or borrowing. Plagiarism originally means to use others work without giving proper credit to the source. A task is said to be plagiarized if we present a new idea or scheme is already been described by some other person.
In other words, we can say that plagiarism is an act of fraud that is performed intentionally. It involved both stealing and then lying to others that it is their own work. But actually that didn’t belong to them.

You don't want to become guilty of plagiarism by letting someone else's words get inadvertently mixed in with your own. If you do feel the need to paste in a block of research while you're writing, be sure to highlight the copied text in a different color so you can go back and remove or rewrite it entirely later.

Can words be really stolen?

In short, its answer is yes. Any ones idea is their own property and right which they showcase on any platform they choose. It is upon them whether they allow others to use their work or not. It is also done with proper credit given to the first and original author.
Plagiarism could occur in many forms. It should be present if we copied someone’s work, use the words without giving credit, providing false information about the author and copy in a large amount and then mark it as your own work which is incorrect.

Avoiding Plagiarism

There are several steps by which plagiarism can be avoided easily. It is also necessary if we want to publish or represent any work. The various steps involved in avoiding plagiarism are as follows:

  • We should keep a record of used sources in the work.
  • We should quote as well as paraphrase from the sources.
  • The original author should be properly credited. It can be done by in-text citations or even by including in the reference list.
  • It is very important to use plagiarism checker software like Turnitin. It will elaborate the sources you used in your work and also tell you the paraphrases that you copied and needed to be corrected.
