Plagiarism is a type of cheating that involves the use of another person's ideas, words, design, art, music, etc., as one's own in whole or in part without acknowledging the author or obtaining his or her permission.
In some context plagiarism could be define as

• when people do the paraphrase on their own they tend to change words into synonyms, it is not correct and the text may not have any sense
• they try to rewrite every sentence which is not always correct
• they do not think of paraphrasing in overall as it should be
