Markdowns is the way in which documents are formatted on steemit so that it will be presentable and readable by the human eye.

In this achievement post, I will be discussing 5 common markdowns that you can use to format your texts on steemit. The 5 markdowns are:

• Headline
• text justify
• blockquote
• table
• Link

1. Headline

Headline markdown is used to format the header text. There are six different sizes of Headline markdown starting from biggest to smallest which include:

2. Text Justify

Text justify is used to format texts to be in a block form. It helps a group of texts to maintain a block shape relative to the screen. Text justify can be achieved with the following markdown tag

As you can see, the texts above are justified in respect to the applied markdown.

3. Blockquote

Blockquote is a markdown used to format a person's comment or quote. It makes a document readable by identifying a quote from non-quote texts! You can achieve this markdown by including a right angular bracket(>) infront of the text.
For example,

"Before you can explore new things in life, you must make some errors and above all, you must take a risk"

The above example shows a blockquote markdown which formatted the quote made by Ikeh Ifeanyi, the scientist!

4. Table

The table markdown is used to structure items in a tabular format. This can be achieved by using the table tag, followed by table row tag, then table header tag and table data tag.
For example,

5. Link

The link markdown is used to redirect text(s) to another URL or probably another web page. With this markdown applied to a text, the text will acquire the properties of a link and start behaving as a link. This markdown can be achieved using an anchor tag.

The above text acts as a link to another another web page or url.
