ACHIEVEMENT POST #4, MARKDOWNS!! 💕
Hey there! It's been a wonderful three weeks now on Steemit and I am learning alot!! At times I ask myself whether I will grasp all these ideologies and the language on Steemit, but thanks to many articles in newcomers community, and @yohan2on, I am getting there.
I am ready to complete my achievement #4, MARKDOWNS
Markdown is a text formatting code system that is aimed at making writing for bloggers or internet users easier and more enjoyable. The concept behind Markdown is that it should be easy to edit plain text without much fussing and rolling on the ground 😂. There are ways to change writing by being easily able to add bold, italics, links, back quotes and more complexities, which can be done with Markdown.
The markdowns help us to show emphasis in our sentences. Case in example I will use my user name.
MARKING ITALIC: Use either an asterisk * or underscore _ before and after the word i.e * amazing-grace * with no spaces amazing-grace
MARKING BOLD: Use the asterisk ** or __ underscore double or two times before and after the word i.e ** amazing-grace ** but with no space amazing-grace
LINKS:
Markdown uses two styles of links that is the inline and reference links. In both styles, the link text is determined by square brackets i.e [ ]
To you to create an inline link, use regular brackets ( ) immediately after closing square bracket. Inside the regular brackets ( ), put the URL where you want the link to go to when taped. This too can be used for Images that have copyright ©️, to show their source.
For instance for,
Map Of England I have used [ ] with the words 'Map Of England' and immediately added ( ) that contains the URL link.
USING BACK QUOTES:
When quoting something that's not our own, we use > right angle brackets or 'greater than sign'.
Example instead of;
"Whenever a family member (or friend) asks to borrow some money, you should only give an amount you’re comfortable not getting back."
Write with > right before to make it;
Whenever a family member (or friend) asks to borrow some money, you should only give an amount you’re comfortable not getting back.
To quote from the backquote, use >> as in;
Whenever a family member (or friend) asks to borrow some money, you should only give an amount you’re comfortable not getting back.
Because family will always be family
