Achievement 4 by @alvinj. Task:Applying Markdown.

in Newcomers' Community3 years ago

My warmest greetings to everyone in the steemit community.

It’s been a great pleasure trying to complete all the achievement task which I hope I would be able to complete some day.
For now I am here to complete the achievement 4 task which looks at applying markdown.
With guidelines from @cryptokannon I will now complete my achievement 4

Making a Heading
Headings form an important part in the making of a good presentation.
When a reader wants to read a post, headings guide him or her to have better understanding on what he or she is reading.

When we want to make a heading we;
insert the hash (#) sign at the beginning of the row of the sentence.

The number of hashtags determines the size of the headline.
That is; if you add more than one hash(#) sign, the size of the headline decreases and vice versa.

This is how it is done;

#Headline 1
##Headline 2
###Headline 3
####Headline 4
#####Headline 5
######Headline 6

Note: In order to have the effect you have to leave space between the hashtag and the sentence.
An example is stated below;

headline

headline

headline

headline

and so on....

Centering a text or sentence

This is also known as aligning center a text.
We sometimes want to make part of our text be in the middle of the page.
It is done by adding;

text here

Adding Subscript
As the name suggest, this feature is used to add a number or text beneath the baseline
It is also used to write note under a video or photo.

This is how it is done;

      text or number here

Adding Superscript
This feature is used to add a number or text above the baseline.

This is how it is done;

     <sup>

Adding code
Sometimes we want to add codes when we are creating a content.

When adding code there are different ways of doing it.

1.Insert one back tick (`) before and another after the markdown syntax.

      **using bold syntax** >> using bold syntax
  1. You can use before and after the command at the end of the word/sentence

This is an example;

        <code> *come* </code> output will be >> come

Quotes -Blockquotes

Sometimes we write quote which was said or written by a popular person.
This is when blockqoute is useful.

The > is used in front of the the sentence.

This is an example;

“Any fool can know. The point is to understand.”
― Albert Einstein

“Any fool can know. The point is to understand.”
― Albert Einstein

<Making a text bold>
We begin a text with two stars(*) and end with two stars when we want to bolden it.
We do this without leaving space between the word and the stars.

Making a text italicized

When we want to italicize a text we begin it by putting a star(*) in front of the text and ending with another star without space.

Making a text bold and italics at the same time

At the beginning of the sentence we start with three stars(*) and end with three stars; that's how we bolden and italicize a text or sentence.

This a little of the numerous commands on applying markdown tutorial.

Thank you all for reading. I hope you learned something.
Thanks goes to @saxopedia, @reddileep @cryptokannon
