Achievement 3 by @ahsanjawed Task : Content Etiquette
Asalam-u-Alikum..!
Hello Everyone and welcome to my Third Achievement post. I hope you all are doing good in your respective lifes. In this post i will tell you about Plagiarism on Steemit.
Plagiarism: What You Need to Know
Plagiarism is often thought of as duplicating someone else's work or taking someone else's original ideas. However, phrases like "copying" and "borrowing" can obscure the gravity of the crime:
It Include:
- To take (another's ideas or words) and pass them off as one's own
- To make use of (another's work) without giving credit to the creator
- To present a product or idea originating from an established source as unique and original
Plagiarism, in other terms, is a form of deception. It entails stealing someone else's work and then lying about it.
But can words and ideas really be stolen?
The answer is yes, according to US law. Original ideas, like original inventions, are considered intellectual property and are protected by copyright laws. Almost all types of expression are protected by copyright if they are recorded in some way (such as a book or a computer file).
Plagiarism is defined as any of the following:
- turning in someone else's work as your own
- stealing someone else's thoughts or ideas without giving credit
- without providing acknowledgment, altering words but replicating the language structure of a source
- whether you provide credit or not, copying so many words or ideas from a source that it makes up the majority of your work (see our section on "fair use" rules)
What about images, videos, and music?
Plagiarism is when you use a picture, video, or piece of music in a work you've created without getting permission or providing correct reference. In today's society, the following activities are highly common. Despite their widespread use, they are still considered plagiarised.
How to Stay Away from It
- Always write your own content rehash other people's ideas, and research and write down what you learn.
- Always provide a citation in the content to credit the primary source material.
"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people's thinking." -Steve Jobssource - When you click on the source, it takes you to the original source and enlightens you much more, just like I did.
Always recognise that your work came from this source; it elevates your work to a higher level of professionalism and maturity.
It's taken me a long time to read and understand the content etiquette, but now I can finally claim that I've grasped the steemit etiquette on the steemit community, and I commit to do my best to adhere to them.

Then please remove ">" from your post. It will only be used when you copy-paste something. So kindly edit your post.
Ohh so that why you have doubt. I personally add this.
