ACHIEVEMENT2@abu78 Task : BASIC SECURITY ON STEEM

Hello to all and sundry,

I would like to accomplish my second achievement which talks on the basic security on steem.

First of all I would like to elaborate on what security is and its benefits. Security is the quality or state of being secure, such as a freedom from danger and freedom from attack.
Security aids in deterring crimes, protects ones business, protects your personal information, protects productivity, denies spyware and prevents adware.

Question 1
Have you retrieve all your keys on steemit?

Yes, I have retrieved all my steemit keys. I saved all my keys safely in my gmail account to secure them after registration which includes posting key, master key owner key and active key.

Question2
Do you know each of these key functions and restrictions?

Yes, I have some knowledge on each keys, that is;
Master key: This is the key that can derive all the other keys including the owner. It is supposed to be secured perfectly and safely. Ones account may be hacked if his/her master key is known.

Posting key: This is the key which one uses for his daily logins. It is the key that allows a user to post, edit, comment, vote, resteem and follow other users in steemit. This key has time in compromising so as such, each posting key has limited time so as to prevent the compromising.

Active key: This key is used for other tasks, which includes; voting for witnesses, transfer of funds, power up/down transactions, converting steem dollars, placing market orders and updating of your profile details.

Owner Key: This key is a very powerful key because it can alter any key of an account including the owner key. This key is not used unnecessary nut rather used when during emergency. It is supposed to be stored offline and mostly used to recover a compromised account.

Memo key: This is the key used in encrypting and decrypting memos when transferring funds. A memo is encrypted by using the pound(#)sign before it.

Question 3
How do you plan to keep your master password?
I stored my master key safely by sending it into my gmail account and I also downloaded the keys file and stored it into my hard drive as well. I also kept it in my draft account.

Question 4
Do you know how to transfer your steem token to another steem user account?
Yes, this is done by;

1. clicking on the avatar icon to display a drop down menu.
   2.You the select profile from the drop down menu.
2. Select and click on wallet
3. You then click on steem with the small down pointed arrow.
4. From the Pop up menu, you type in the username of the person you want to send the steem token to.
5. Click next and confirm.

Question 5
Do you know how to power up your STEEM?
Yes, this is done by;

1. Go to profile
2. Click on wallet
3. Click on steem with the small down pointed arrow
4. Click on Power Up
5. Enter the amount to power up and then click on Power Up to confirm.
