I am here to complete my achievement 2 post, a task about basic security on steemit.

Security is an assurance of safety or being safe.
So when we keep our keys safe we are assured that our account is safe from hackers.

I will now answer the questions on the task below.

Question 1
Have you retrieved all your keys on steemit?

Yes I have done so.
I have saved all copies of my keys in my gmail account and I have gone the extra mile of saving them offline on my personal computer.
ie the posting key, active key, owner key and the master key.

Question 2
Do you know each of these key functions and restrictions?

Yes I do.

Posting key
The posting key is a key that allows users to post their content, cast votes, edit post, follow others and also mute other users.
This key is the key that a user should use anytime he is logging into his account because using this key minimizes the damage incase your account has been compromised.

The active key
The active key is used for transferring steem, steem dollars, converting your steem dollars and also powering and powering down your steem power.

This key also allows you to make changes to your account and also vote witnesses.

The owner key.
The owner key is a very essential tool.
This key is used to reset your keys when your account has been compromised.

It is only used in important moments.

The master key.
The master key is used to encrypting and decrypting memos during transfer of funds.
The pound (#) sign is used for this function.

Question 3
How do you plan to keep your master password.?

I have downloaded my keys and stored them in my gmail and also a copy offline.

Question 4

Do you know how to transfer your steem token to another steem user account?

Yes I do.
This is how it is done.

1. Click on the icon at the top right corner of your page.

2.Click on menu for the pop up menu.

3.Click on wallet.

4.On the highlighted steem option you will see an arrow pointing downwards, click on it.

1. Click on transfer.

2. In the next menu, fill in the username of the person you want to transfer the funds to in the space provided.

3. Click on next and then confirm transaction.

Question 5.
Do you know how to power up your steem?

Yes I do.
This is how it is done

1. Click on the profile.

2. Select wallet.

3.click on the arrow pointing downwards on the highlighted steem option.

4.click on power up.

5.Fill in the amount of steem you want to power up.

1. Click on power up to confirm.

This is what you should know about basic security on steemit.
