Почему именно удивительный мир, спросите вы. Но именно такой вывод напрашивается, когда ты приходишь сюда на экскурсию. Да, здесь великое множество цветов и растений со всех уголков земли, но именно азалии меня удивили.
Why exactly the "wonderful world", you may ask. But this is exactly the conclusion that suggests itself when you come here for a tour. Yes, there are a great many flowers and plants from all over the world, but it was the azaleas that surprised me.
Дело в том, что эти цветы достаточно привиредливы. У нас есть несколько горшков с азалиями и мы долго не могли понять, почему им не нравится наш добросовестный уход. Много лет эти расстения отказывались цвести у нас в доме, пока мы не вычитали, что им нужен холод.
The fact is that these flowers are quite fastidious. We have several pots of azaleas and for a long time we could not understand why they do not like our conscientious care. For many years, these plants refused to bloom in our house, until we read that they needed cold.
С тех пор, как горшки с нашими азалиями из тёплой квартиры перебрались на балкон, всё пошло совершенно иначе: цветы начали бурно цвести и вообще, даже зимой прекрасно чувствуют себя на морозе, пусть и на закрытом балконе, где температура чуть выше, чем снаружи.
Since the pots with our azaleas moved from a warm apartment to the balcony, everything has gone completely different: the flowers began to bloom violently and in general, even in winter they feel great in the cold, even on a closed balcony, where the temperature is slightly higher than outside.
Когда я посетил ботанический сад Петербурга, меня удивило то, что эти цветы хорошо себя здесь чувствуют в жаре. Под сводами оранжереи они замечательно цветут, размножаются и благоухают, но я не заметил, чтобы кто-то подкладывал им в горшки лёд или подводил холодный воздух.
When I visited the Botanical garden of St. Petersburg, I was surprised that these flowers feel good here in the heat. Under the arches of the greenhouse, they bloom wonderfully, multiply and smell fragrant, but I did not notice that someone put ice in their pots or brought cold air to them.
Азалий здесь очень много. Они разных цветов и оттенков, растения и сами бутоны разных размеров. Их разнообразие и общее количество уступает лишь местной коллекции рододендронов, которых тут представлено огромное количество.
There are a lot of azaleas here. They are of different colors and shades, the plants and the buds themselves are of different sizes. Their diversity and total number is second only to the local collection of rhododendrons, of which there are a huge number.
Наверное, надо было поинтересоваться у местных садоводов, в чём секрет местных азалий. Но об этом я их спрошу как-нибудь в другой раз : )
Probably, I should have asked the local gardeners what the secret of the local azaleas is. But I will ask them about this some other time:)

Son azaleas. Les gusta el frío y en Venezuela, que yo sepa, hace mucho calor. Pero usted crece muy hermosas flores de cactus, y en Rusia no lo hacen en absoluto, incluso en el sur.
Las plantas son asombrosas, no importa el clima ellas siempre intentan crecer y verse hermosas, ya sea en Rusia o en Venezuela.
Sí, también tenemos muchos colores diferentes en los jardines delanteros cerca de las casas. Ni siquiera sé todos sus nombres. Y en invierno, cuando hay heladas afuera, en macetas en el balcón tenemos rosas, geranios y azaleas en flor : )
