I was reminded of the fresh atmosphere of the Istiqamah Great Masjid, Tapaktuan, South Aceh. Its exact location in the center of Tapaktuan City and at the foot of the Bukit Barisan Mountains makes this Masjid always a mandatory place for people from Tapaktuan or outside Tapaktuan to visit for worship and spiritual tourism.

This Masjid has one main dome and is surrounded by 4 minarets which add to the grandeur of the Masjid. There is one more tower that towers majestically in the courtyard of the Masjid. This Masjid building is somewhat closer to the Middle Eastern architectural style combined with the traditional style of the Masjid in Aceh as well as the reliefs. The courtyard of this Masjid is filled with date palm trees so that we can feel the atmosphere of the Middle East even though it is at the foot of the Bukit Barisan Mountains.
