Kids of the World: Sharing is Caring - Giving Food Packs & Groceries to the Kids

It’s been a while since we have an online conversation with my colleagues and the longer we talk online, we make a plan to have a feeding program in our barangay. We prioritize those family who are below average class and can’t feed 3x a day. We make a list of the things we need, especially the things that we need for our campaign. We asked our beloved friends and family to give us their support and wish to have some financial assistance with our groceries and we are happy that they are willing to give.

Preparation

After a couple of day of preparation, we contacted the barangay officials in our place to help us organize our feeding program for the kids, gladly they welcomed us with a big smile and they also offered some assistance. They prepare a proper venue for us, they are also willing to lend us some equipment, like the microphone and baffles for the music. They are the one who call the people in their barangay and guide them to line up so that everything will be in order.
Before we start our program we make everyone bow their heads and we pray to God for giving us good health and a good immune system to resist the virus that has been spreading through the earth. We thank him for every blessing he has given to us.

The Program

We start our program with a conversation to everyone, sharing their experiences during this pandemic and how their life before and after the pandemic. Seriously, I’m surprised that they are really active by answering my questions and I can feel their answers on how hard life has been. I can say that I’m fortunate that I can eat anytime I want, unlike them that if there's no food on the table they just sleep with an empty stomach.

Around 50 families are given our food packs and groceries. I can really see how happy they were when we started to distribute the gifts. The smiles they gave us and a simple thank you from them really fulfilled the happiness in my heart.

Conclusion

Everything went according to our plan thanks to the barangay officials who are really active in holding the crowd. To the townspeople thank you so much for the warm welcome you have given us, thank you for making our charity program successful, thank you for being so active in our fun and games event. To all people who help us, thank you for making the impossible possible.

I’m positive that this will be the beginning of everything, a journey where we can change someone’s life and we can also say that there is still hope for everything. Just believe in yourself and ask God for guidance.

It was a satisfying day. The hard work that we feel while preparing our program really changes when we see their happy faces and when they say a thank you word for all of us.
