The idea of this competition is very creative and interesting because everyone must have plants and have already planted plants, especially ornamental, horticultural or fruitful plants in plantations or in the yard of the house. This time I am interested in posting ornamental plants planted in pots by my wife and placed in the yard of the house. Of the many available plants, I was attracted by the Bryophyllum pinnatum, a plant that reproduces with adventitious shoots and is also beautiful to look at. The home page will be more beautiful and cool to the eye with the presence of ornamental plants, let alone a unique favorite ornamental plant, has many benefits and can be cultivated easily, one of which is Bryophyllum pinnatum.

Bryophyllum pinnatum plant or known by its scientific name, namely Kalanche pinnata. The leaves of this plant are thick because they contain water and are considered to have a unique and beautiful appearance. This plant is well known for its reproduction method through leaf buds (adventitious shoots). Well, have you ever heard of adventitious shoots? This time I will write a little about Bryophyllum pinnatum; especially about how to reproduce, how to grow it and also its benefits.

In general, plants reproduce in two ways, namely by vegetative and generative. Generative reproduction is done by marriage and conversely, vegetative reproduction is not done by marriage. Vegetative reproduction also consists of two, namely natural vegetative and artificial vegetative. Adventitious shoots are an example of a natural vegetative, where the shoots are formed without mating in the plant. Adventitious shoots are a method of reproduction in plants through shoots that arise or appear in places where they shouldn't, for example at the tips of the leaves of the plant. Adventitious shoots on Bryophyllum pinnatum will grow on the margins of the leaves.

Vegetative plants or those that are formed and reproduced without marriage, adventitious shoots will have the same genetic and characteristics as the parent plant because the result of adventitious shoots is cloning of the parent plant. Adventitious shoots not only grow on the leaves but can also grow in other parts, for example on stems or roots.

The Bryophyllum pinnatum plant is very easy to plant because the shoots that grow on the leaves will fall to the surface of the ground, then grow and develop into new plants.
