CONTEST “One day in my town”:eighth week ,wedding !

Hello everyone hope you are all doing great
Am very grateful for this contest and great thanks go to the organizer of the contest @greatketty thanks a lot for this opportunity because I know by participating in this contest we shall be able to learn about different traditions in different parts of the world
Am going to talk about our wedding in Uganda
In Uganda wedding are either than in church if you are a Christian and if you are a Moslem the wedding happens in the mosque
So am going to first take you through various stages that you pass through before the wedding

The first one is that the girl takes the boy he wants to marry to her relatives so they can approve if he will suit there daughter and if the girl’s family accepts the boy or man they then call for an introduction which takes place at the woman or girls home and the dress code is gomesi for the ladies and after the introduction you then proceed on to the wedding

That’s what they call gomesi

So the wedding takes place in the church where the couples exchange vows and promise to have ones back in times of sorrow and happiness

The vows are made and then the Paster prays for the newly wedded couples and then couples move on to the reception where they cut cake and get gifts from the invited people

When the function is done the bride is asked to close her eyes and throw her flower to the audience and the person who picks up the flower will be the next to wed

I invite @kyara2 and @dalvin to join the contest
