My dreamed way to participate in slowing down the global warming | club75
Global warming in progress
The coming years will be very hard, and the years ahead - probably even worse. It can be seen in South America, where drinking water is often privatized, glaciers are disappearing, and each year the desertification of areas is progressing faster. It can be seen in Europe, for example in Spain where rivers are drying, or in Poland where there was not enough tap water in Lodzkie region last year. It can be seen in Canada, where the temperature has risen by four degrees in the Yukon province, reversing permafrost. South Africa has had such a terrible drought in the country for the last six years that it plans to transport ice from Antarctica. It will temporarily help them but will cause more problems for whole the globe in the long term. Asia is drying up to such an extent that South Korea is beginning to experiment with the artificial triggering of rain, in China the technology is already in common use. The world is going crazy and will continue to rage, which will certainly result in further economic turmoil, growing shortages of products, increasing disasters and diseases, finally social radicalization.
If we won't think right now about the world that awaits us in 20-25 years, our life may turn out to be very hard. So let's do something! Of course, we can try to lead a zero-waste life, switch to vegetarianism, or at least flexitarianism, give up plastic, buy more second-hand products instead of new ones, and lobby for changes in politicians. All of this is significant and worth implementing, but it probably won't save us from the worst. At best, it can slow climate change by several years or, very optimistically, decades.

My dreamed way to participate in slowing down the global warming
My life's dream, however, is to go a few steps further - to buy a large plot of land in the future, with a house for my family and for a few volunteers and a large garden from which we will be able to feed ourselves and several neighbors. Sure, it won't save the world but will help me to feel I did my best to slow down the changes. We hope that we will be able to come closer to self-sufficiency (with the priority on food, but in the future also with the production of linen and wool, energy from the sun and water, and wood for furniture, tools). Of course, we are not so naive to think that complete self-sufficiency is possible without building a community, but minimizing our dependence on cash will definitely make us more resistant to any crises that the future brings.
Farming could be combined with small-scale agritourism, which, together with the sale of food surpluses and writing on Steemit, will allow us to raise money for the products we cannot produce and save some cash in case of emergency.
It would be nice to gather around neighbors with similar beliefs and life goals. I am more of an introverted person myself, but although it takes me a long time to make friends, once I bond with the other person, I'm a very dedicated friend. However, these are all dreams that will take us several years to come true. Steemit is, in some way, helping to achieve this goal. I am very grateful for that. As soon as I manage to set up my own permaculture garden, I guarantee carrots for everyone!

It's taxing to think about that, but it is undeniable that the future won't be bright if the situation gets even worse. It's not forever that mother nature has a way to let itself live and grow.
Sure, the only real power to change something is on the governments' hands. All what individuals can do is like a drop of water in the ocean. Still, I do what I can, mostly to be able to say that I've tried.
I believe the nature in some form will survive nearly everything. There are organisms that can live without oxygen as well as in the temperatures thousand times higher than those from Atacama or Sahara The game is about keeping biodiversity on the current level and keeping the environment human-friendly. Here, honestly, I doubt we will succeed. Even though I do have some selfish need to keep humankind alive, I already accepted that the world may continue without us in a few centuries.
