The "aloe" plant or aloe vera is very popular and known in the world, both for its medicinal, healing, cosmetic uses and for its beauty and ornamental uses, there are people with religious beliefs that often use it as an amulet, as there is also the belief that it is a plant that is responsible for collecting the bad energies of the home, by way of recommendations I can tell you that as health uses we have the aloe vera punch: it is a cold drink that consists of a shake of aloe vera crystal with lemon juice which is very refreshing and moisturizing for the body, the aloe vera crystal is often used for burns and skin moisturizer, and consumption of aloe vera crystal is very good for the respiratory tract, also some chefs use it in their recipes, many more uses are known which I do not remember, but you can look it up on the internet because there is a lot of information available, that is why it is very common to see this exotic plant in a lot of homes and gardens.
Aloe, commonly known as aloe, aloe vera or acíbara, among others, is a genus of succulent plants. The APG IV classification system (2016) includes the genus in the family Asphodelaceae, subfamily Asphodeloideae. Within this subfamily it is found in the tribe Aloeae. In the past it was assigned to Aloaceae (now included in Asphodeloidae) or in a broader circumscription to Liliaceae (Cronquist System, 1981). It has about 525 accepted species out of more than 1000 described. It is native to the dry regions of Africa, Madagascar and the Near East, although it has spread throughout the world.
Members of the genera Gasteria and Haworthia, which have a similar mode of growth are sometimes cultivated and popularly known as aloes. Another family generally confused with the aloes are the agavaceae, but they differ from these in that their young leaves are not conically clustered, their scape is not terminal, and the plant does not die after flowering.
