    Papaya is a readily available fruit. Papaya can be eaten as a vegetable throughout the year. Therefore, the cultivable land should be free from waterlogging and irrigation facilities.

  • Time of planting seedlings
    Kartik to Falg / i.e. November to February is the best time to sow papaya seeds. The best time to plant saplings is from Chaitra to Boishakh i.e. March to April. However, its saplings can be planted in September and October. Although high and medium high fertile loam soils are good for cultivation. However, with care, all types of soil can be cultivated.

  • Seedling planting method:
    15 to 20 days before planting the seedlings should be drilled in the size of 60/80/45 cm at a distance of two meters. Rotten dung and TSP fertilizer should be mixed well with the soil in the hole. The place should be irrigated by filling the hole with composted soil. One and a half to two months old seedlings are to be planted.
