Competition"what is the author trying to say" by @luckydrums
Good steemians , I'm partaking in the competition"what is the author trying to say " contest. This is my entry, I hope you find it reasonable
Analysis
Figures of Speech used
- Visual Imagery
- Simile
- Personification
- Metaphor
- Alliteration(d and y)
- Diction
The author uses a variety of words to describe everyday things around us. His choice of words reflect deep thinking about phenomena in reality, and it also passes a sense pf something fading away.
- Tone
The tone of the poem is didatic in the sense that he is conveying that people around him are "sharpening morality into a fairy tale". Also, "broken trough" represents an incomplete society where capitalism and selfishness is now the goal as is seen in thr last verse that implies that they are celebrating ie "owners of buckwheat" denotes people of great wealth.
Theme
- Capitalism in society
- Lack of morals
Final Notes
In my opinion, the author is saying that the society and people have now forgotten morals, all in a bid for the rich lifestyle. This can also be seen in line 1, where he refers to the poor as insignificant and their pain as worthless.
Thank you for participation!
