Assalamu Alaikum.
My best wishes and congratulations to all the excited friends.
I love planting trees. Plant trees yourself and encourage others to plant and preserve our environment.
I am from @konokreza Bangladesh.
Use steam plants 14 times a week. I'm going to take part today.
@knopka145 Madam, I sincerely thank you for sharing this with us and for giving me the opportunity to take part in this beautiful competition.
I have participated in the last few competitions but I am very happy to be a part of this community.
Today I will tell you about palm tree cultivation and its advantages and disadvantages and how to cultivate it.
# Cultivation of palm trees: - The palm tree is one of the tallest palm trees in the world, reaching a height of 30 meters or 100 feet. The palm leaves spread like wings so the palm trees of the genus Borasus are collectively called fan-palms. The palm is a popular tree in many parts of the Indian subcontinent because almost all of its parts are used to make things, almost nothing can be discarded. Palm leaves are used to make house shades, hand fans, palm leaf mats, mats, drawing pots, writing books, coils, dolls etc. Houses, boats, house boats etc. are also made with palm stems.Food quality:
- Palm fruits and seeds are both Bengali food. Palm fuluri is made from the thick extract of palm fruit. Palm seeds are also eaten as lepa or "palm kernels". Juice is also collected from the trunk of the palm tree and from it molasses, patali, candy, tari (a type of distilled wine) etc. are made. Rhythm contains vitamins A, B and C, zinc, potassium, iron and many more minerals including calcium. It also has anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory ingredients. However, soft palms should be bought when buying palms. Because more mature rhythms are difficult to digest. # How to plant palm trees? - Tal is an important unconventional fruit of Bangladesh. It is wonderful to see a single tall stem and a beautiful bunch of leaves at its apex. Palms like coconut, date, betel nut belong to the same ‘pami’ family. This plant has a group of seed leaves and a bunch of roots. The roots of the palm tree do not reach deep into the soil, but more than a hundred clusters spread evenly around the roots and hold the soil firmly. Protects trees from natural adversities (storms, cyclones) and prevents soil erosion. Older trees grow up to 60-70 feet tall. The tree has 35-50 hard leaves at the apex. Due to the pointed tips of the leaves, planting of this fruit as a lightning-resistant tree is very popular. For the same reason, in order to protect the fauna from the onslaught of lightning and to take advantage of the multifaceted use of trees, the expansion of palm fruit is given priority in many countries. In the same vein, the Government of Bangladesh has undertaken a program to plant 1 million palm saplings this year (2017-2018). In the current 2017, DAE has taken a program to plant 2 lakh palm seeds / saplings all over the country.Nutrition:
- Rhythm is very nutritious and rich in medicinal properties. Although all types of fruits are rich in a variety of vitamins and minerals that are good for the body, there are some important ingredients outside of it. As a result, the presence of calcium, iron, fiber and calories is much higher than other fruits. For adults, it is very important to get enough easily digestible fiber from the source of this fruit. Palm molasses has more protein, fat and minerals than sugarcane molasses.Medicinal properties:
- Palm juice cures diarrhea, increases urine flow and helps in relieving stomach ache / inflammation, constipation. Consumption of the juice of this fruit keeps the body cool, relieves fatigue, provides energy to the body and eliminates insomnia. Egyptian made from palm juice works as an antidote for colds and coughs, especially for children and the elderly. In addition, this fruit is very effective as a liver disease and bile.Benefits:
- Raw-ripe palms and every part of the tree are very important in public life. The timber value of the stems of older trees (50 years and above) is very high. The use of hard perennial wood of this tree for making tin or semi-finished houses in villages is very popular. Poor families use palm leaves as an alternative to straw in building greenhouses.- In the rainy season, many people cross the water by making dinghies with palm stems. The use of palm leaves and tips as fuel is more prevalent in the villages. In ancient times, when paper was not in vogue, palm leaves were used as an alternative to paper in education. Various types of hand fans are made from palm leaves. The use of this fan is very high in summer. Women are mainly engaged in earning extra income by making and marketing colorful fans with palm leaves.
The juice collected from palm flowers and young fruits is very popular as one of the most delicious drinks. Molasses is made from palm juice. The market price of this molasses is much higher. Palm juice is obtained from both males and females. During the season, 10-15 liters of juice is obtained daily from a palm tree.
Soil:
- Palms have cultivation facilities in all types of soils. Palm can also be cultivated in some barren soils in adverse environment. Fruits are more tolerant of water retention and salinity than other fruits. Varieties: There are few specific varieties of palm in the country and abroad. Different names of varieties are given locally considering the size, color and fruit holding condition of the palm fruit. The color of ripe palm can be light brown, dark yellow and black. In addition, some Baromasi varieties of palm trees can be seen. Since male and female palm trees like date palms and latkan grow separately. Therefore, it is not possible to maintain the characteristics of seedlings obtained from seeds without propagation in tissue culture or similar systems.Propagation:
- Palm seedlings are propagated by making seedlings from palm seeds or by sowing the seeds directly in the soil. Like other fruits, palm cultivation in the form of orchards is not common in this country. August-October is the season full of ripe palms. If ripe palm or seed has somehow fallen on the ground, road, pond or pond, new trees are formed from it. Since it takes 10-12 years for seeds to germinate and produce fruit, there is no interest in planting palm trees in the form of home or garden like other fruits. However, planting trees on roadsides, embankments, shrimp farms, railway lines and other community places can be especially beneficial.★★★ STEEM-BRU(BY-RU-UA) ★★★
