Object Of The Week Contest #24 - Making Use Of Sea Shells
Hello everyone. Welcome to Week 24 of this exciting contest, the Object Of The Week Contest hosted by @strecoza. The contest post with the rules can be found here. Do read up about this and come and join the fun.
For this week 24 the object is:
SEA SHELL
When the pandemic started our city went into an Enhanced Community Quarantine and all forms of entertainment and leisure activities were prohibited. This meant that even going to beach resorts was not allowed. I really felt bad about this because my family and I, at least once a month, would go to the beach for the day and have a swim and lunch and snacks. It was something my family look forward to. My kids would usually walk along the shallow part of our favorite beach resort to search for interesting things and one of these of course was sea shells.
What I did not know was that my wife and daughter saved the sea shells they collected. I thought they returned them all to the sea because what would they do with the shells anyway? But I was wrong. They had other ideas.
Some of the shells my wife placed in a glass bottle and made it part of the display items in the living room.
This bottle was placed in a wooden stand in the living room and I must admit I did not notice it until only this week when the object of the week was announced. Here it is as displayed.
Can you see it? It is that small bottle at the lower shelf at the left-hand side.
When I told my daughter about the Sea Shell Object of the Week she told me she started a project using the sea shells she collected and some pearls which she bought. She was making a rosary and took some photos of the work process.
And finally, before I end, I saw this hanging in one of the stands inside the room. It is a sea shell necklace although I do not know if this was made by my wife or bought from the beach resort. Anyway, now I know I have something to wear when I attend a beach party sometime in the future.
And that is all for this week's object. I hope you liked it. Stay safe everyone and good luck in the contest.
