Contest - "Object of the Week" #4- Candlesticks or candles.

Quiero participar por primera vez en este concurso con una pieza original, un candelabro en hierro forjado que me regaló mi hermana menor en un viaje a tierras de la Repùblica Dominicana, es un estilizado candelabro del arte caribeño que representa una figura humana llevando uno de los elementos de la naturaleza: el fuego.

I want to participate for the first time in this contest with an original piece, a wrought iron chandelier that my younger sister gave me on a trip to the lands of the Dominican Republic, it is a stylized chandelier of Caribbean art that represents a human figure carrying one of the elements of nature: fire.

Es una pieza que hace juego con otra en el mismo estilo, también original y tienen en mi familia muchos años. Solemos encenderlo en ocasiones cuando se cae la electricidad.
Siempre me ha gustado como su sombra antropomórfica se refleja en la pared y me recuerda ritos ancestrales de otras culturas. Me recuerda África y su influencia en nuestro imaginario y nuestra cultura.

It is a piece that matches another in the same style, also original and has been in my family for many years. We usually turn it on sometimes when the power goes out.
I have always liked how his anthropomorphic shadow is reflected on the wall and reminds me of ancient rites from other cultures. It reminds me of Africa and its influence on our imagination and our culture.

Es una pieza eterna, hermosa y muy útil.
