Kids of the World Contest Week #9: Greatest Love

I have actually passed this contest several times. But today I finally have created my entry. It took me long to join this contest because nowadays I don't really have a decent photo of my kids. They always say no when I ask to take a picture of them.

Way back 2010 I gave birth to my daughter. I didn't realize how hard it is to be a mother until I became one. Just like any young mother to be, I had a lot of hesitations. Then followed my son the year after.

Having kids is something I consider the the biggest responsibility in my life. It was a total shift of priorities. But in the darkest moment of my life the only thing that keeps me going are my kids. It is one thing I hold on to in moments like I can't continue.

My daughter who is actually a complete reflection of my attitude sometimes irritates me but then makes me realize that I did act like that when I was her age. It was this moment that I thought of my mom. How tired she must have been keeping up with my attitude.

My son who I will forever consider the only person in the world who will never get tired of loving me. He is the one who sees me slim though Im getting fat. He says Im beautiful everytime I check on the mirror and looking unsatisfied. My constant number fan.

Children are the fruit of our love. It is sweet, perfectly shaped, a bit sour but completely the most delicious fruit you'll ever have. Its like enjoying a freshly picked fruit. You'll have to give effort to get them but once you have it you will definitely enjoy it.

So whenever I look at other kids having so much difficulties I thought of my Children. I can't imagine them having to beg for food or a proper shelter. So with little things I do I always choose to do charity and I always choose children.

The young didn't or couldn't choose the life they are born to. It is us the parents who brought them in this life to give a life they deserve.

So my next charity event will be giving slippers, food and clothes to the children of Olango island. In this way we can share and spread happiness to every filipino children. A little help will go a long way.

The greatest gift we can ever give to our kids would be our love and time. By giving time to be with them and talk to them makes us understand them. And that is an unconditional love.
