A SWIFT CHANGE
There was a time
Then, we used to sing
But our song was low
Though, sonorous at first
And then, waning, waning, waning.
We began ushering ungodliness
Displacing our righteousness
And bartered it for filthiness
Our first love pieced
Our souls in daze.
What has happened?
We cannot express
For it was a swift change
Righteousness to unrighteousness
Our great selves had been overtaken by sins.
