RE: Silverback, the Wolf King

Ditto that!
The horrific child abuse sounds soooo much like real life. Great writers make us believe the horrors they speak of had to happened for real. I truly hope this was pure fiction. Except for the magic in the forest - the "hang in there" cat from the poster with the rope, and eagle, and above all, the epic Silverback, the Wolf King. Fantastic scene!

For all the horror, there's some good: "a loving foster family....no need to hide inside a closet and flee to imaginary worlds." And this is good but poignant too: "And as time passed, there was no more need for imaginary friends."

I love the ending, in spite of the chaos and detritus of a ruined childhood home. The wolf is so loved, and so imbued with life, like The Velveteen Rabbit, but more vital and necessary. :)

Love it!

Thank you for your kind words! I really appreciate it! And yes, the story was purely fictional.
