First Contest of this new community “Nature photography” - Primer Concurso de esta nueva comunidad “Fotografía de naturaleza”.
I live in the sector La Pastora, which is the historical center of my city, Valencia (Carabobo, Venezuela). My house has a large patio with many plants and some of them I have grown. In the photograph, the plant in the center below is an acerola cherry (Malpighia glabra) tree, on the right is a banana (Musa AAA) plant, and the leaves on the roof are from an avocado (Persea americana) tree.
Vivo en el sector La Pastora, que es casco histórico de mi ciudad, Valencia (Carabobo, Venezuela). Mi casa tiene un patio grande con muchas plantas y algunas de ellas las he cultivado. En la fotografía, la planta en el centro abajo es un árbol de semeruco (Malpighia glabra), a la derecha una planta de cambur (Musa AAA), y las hojas sobre el techo son de un árbol de aguacate (Persea americana).
In the next photograph you can see the avocado tree, which is currently in full bloom and has small fruits. A mountain can be seen in the background.
En la siguiente fotografía se aprecia mejor el árbol de aguacate, que actualmente está muy floreado y tiene frutos pequeños. En el fondo se aprecia una montaña.
Dry vegetation prevails on the mountain because in my country we are currently in the drought period.
En la montaña prevalece la vegetación seca porque en mi país estamos actualmente transitando en la época de sequía.
In Venezuela there are not 4 seasons, only 2 periods, the drought period and the rain period. From my house I once photographed the mountain in both periods. The following images are of the same area of the mountain but in different periods.
En Venezuela no hay 4 estaciones, solo 2 épocas, época de sequía y época de lluvias. Desde mi casa en una oportunidad, fotografié la montaña en ambas épocas. Las siguientes imágenes son de una misma área de la montaña pero en épocas diferentes.
Occasionally I go up that mountain to capture photographs, mostly of plants, and finally I show an image of a landscape behind the mountain, just before the drought period; where you can also see the north of Valencia.
Ocasionalmente subo a esa montaña para capturar fotografías, en su mayoría de plantas, y finalmente muestro una imagen de un paisaje detrás de la montaña, poco antes de la época de sequía; donde se aprecia también el norte de Valencia.

Si, pero me parece más agradable en época de lluvias. A Nueva Esparta la conozco solo en fotos y los paisajes son espectaculares.
