SEC-S15W1: The Wonder of Science

Hey Steemian friends!

Have you watched Oppenheimer or The Theory of Everything kind of films? I mean not the science fiction but the real stories about the brilliant minds who shaped our world. It's fascinating to think about the journey of these scientists and the wonders they unfolded. This contest would be a great opportunity to reflect on the marvels of science that surround us every day.

👉 Science has helped build a great civilization. - What is your opinion on this matter?

There’s no doubt that math and science are the main reasons why we are here as superior beasts in this world. Just think about it, every leap forward for humanity in history has something to do with science innovations. From the wheel to the steam engine, and now to the vast AI technology, science has been the guiding force for all the wonders we are witnessing right now.

👉 How do you think our lives would be if there was no science?

We would probably still be figuring out how to rub two sticks together in our cave 😂 and our fastest method of transportation would be swinging from tree to tree (I like that transport method though, will feel like a spider man). Can’t imagine who will run the world then!

Basically, we owe our comfortable lives to science, from the roofs over our heads to electricity, medicine, smartphones, WIFI, you name it.. simply everything that keeps us going. Without science, we would have been forever trapped in the Stone Age.

👉 If you could ask a famous scientist one question, who would it be, and what would you ask?

Now, that's an easy one. If I had to choose, it would definitely be a chat with Albert Einstein. The brain behind the theory of relativity and the most famous equation e=mc2! Man this person is just a super human.

I'd ask him, "Mr. Einstein, I'm curious about your thoughts on the concept of time travel. Do you believe it and could it ever be scientifically possible?”

I don’t know whether I will have the capacity to understand his answer though! I feel nervous even thinking about it.😬

👉 Share three amazing science discoveries that make our lives easier.

Though we have so many amazing discoveries, I'm going to focus on a few significant and recent discoveries that drastically changed our way of life,

• Introduction of Personal Computing:

The great visionaries such as Steve Jobs and Bill Gates has fundamentally changed how we interact, work, and access information through this little machines called computer. Having all the info we need right at our fingertips is like a luxury we must have now. It has simply become one of those things we just can't imagine living without.

• Creation of the Internet:

Can you believe how the Internet has knitted the world together? World Wide Web indeed! A few decades ago, we wouldn't have believed it. Now, we have the facility to chatting with folks from every corner, grabbing info in an instant, and even doing the work from anywhere thing.

• Development of Vaccines:

Thanks to advances in vaccines, healthcare has undergone a significant transformation, with countless lives saved. Vaccination programs, especially against diseases like polio, smallpox, and Covid, have effectively contained once-serious risks, securing a world population that is both safer and healthier.
