Today I'm going to tell the story of my cousin's haldi ceremony.

Putting turmeric on the body before marriage is a traditional ceremony. This is such a Memorable Day at My Cousin's haldi Program.

I recently had the great pleasure of joining my cousin's haldi ceremony in a rural environment. It is a celebration that is not just a colorful festival but one that demands tradition. I will never forget that day because i'm waiting this function to enjoy with all my relatives.

In Bengali tradition, applying turmeric in a body is a common pre-wedding activity. This is a vivid and significant occasion for is. This event is held to bless the bride and groom before their wedding day and is marked by the application of turmeric paste on their bodies, expressing purity and good wishes for their future life together.

When the sun started to come right in the middle of the sky, we started this programme. Many of our relatives were present. Especially women were very present. Everyone came there with great joy. Small children were splashing colors. We all decorated the groom's clothes by writing the bride's name.

The centerpiece of the ceremony was the application of turmeric paste, a task usually performed by close family members and friends. It was heartwarming to witness the smiles and giggles that accompany this ritual, symbolizing the acceptance and blessings given to the bride and groom. The golden hue of the turmeric paste signifies the warmth and love enveloping the couple.

Besides turmeric, we displayed some paddy, dublo grass, betel nut, milk syrup, soap, shampoo, fake banana leaves in the chulo, which looked very attractive.

After the bathing, one of the most memorable aspects was the traditional dance performance. Local dancers dressed in colorful costumes dance to the rhythm of the music. The dance was enjoyed by everyone in the village with much fun. Also their acting, movements and their dance coordination enthralled the audience.

Turmeric dishes are also a delightful representation of the culture's rich heritage. Phirni, biryani, sweets, etc. were there for everyone. Everyone was delighted to taste this traditional dish prepared with love and care by the local cooks.

What drew me most to the Holud program was the villagers, relatives and friends coming together to celebrate, and the overwhelming sense of unity and joy. The importance of maintaining our cultural legacy and the delight of enjoyment these moments with loved ones come to mind.

To sum up, I would say that the Holud programme in my neighbourhood was an altering moment for me.It was vibrant, full of song, dance, and most importantly, love. I will always remember this festival as evidence of my village's strong cultural history and the ties that bind us.
