I am happy to participate this week in the competition presented by the Steem For Bangladesh community titled “I am a teacher”, this topic is very deep and has a lot of studies, but my answer is from a certain point of view based on this I have experienced by virtue of my specialization as a teacher and what I have seen in the field… I wish you Good read.

Whose teacher are you? Do you teach for a living?

I well remember my father's words, when I decided to be a teacher. He directs me and says, You have chosen well, my son. By God, it is an honorable profession, and it suffices you to be proud that it is the profession of the prophets. Then he asks me to enlighten my path, saying: Are you ready for it? It is a difficult profession, and it requires patience, perseverance and sacrifice. I confidently told him: I am fully prepared.

The years are passing by and the days are running, and here I am, having completed my fifteenth year without realizing it. Year after year, my love for my profession increases and my giving in it increases, and I draw inspiration from it with all the lofty meanings and instill through it all the praiseworthy virtues in our students and spread science and knowledge wherever I am.

In my opinion, the teacher's love for his profession makes him overcome all the difficulties he faces. That is, yes, there are many burdens and tasks placed on him, but this is the nature of the teacher's work. Therefore, everyone who wants to join the teaching profession must be aware of what this profession is.

Personally, I chose the profession based on a decision, choice, and conviction, and preferred it over a number of other opportunities that I had and I have never regretted my decision as long as it brings me professional satisfaction and material subsistence, and before that the divine reward.

What challenges have you faced as a teacher?

My country, Tunisia, has made a point of including computer science and information technology programs in the basic education programs that are taught to students from the fourth year of primary school to the last year of high school, so that the student is aware and knowledgeable of the different types of technologies that surround it and the ability to acquire the skills of planning, designing, programming, creating websites and databases, and analyzing them in various aspects of practical life.

As a computer science teacher, I can confirm that the teaching of computer science and information technology subjects in secondary school faced several challenges that needed to be taken into consideration when developing curricula in computers, the most important of which are:

• The great disparity of the social and economic level between the big cities and the villages of Tunisia, which results in a great disparity of the level of availability of information technologies in the local communities.

• The wide gap between the capacities of different schools with regard to the provision of information networks and educational technology systems.

• The large discrepancy between the number and level of training programs and areas of information technology available to people in society between large cities and small towns.

• The wide gap in information literacy and skill levels among students between those living in big cities and those living in small towns.

• The difference between operating systems and programs (computer labs) from one school to another. Lack of educational research to evaluate current and past computer programs and books.

• Ensure the link and integration of computer science programs at the secondary level with the programs of the previous intermediate and elementary levels.

How do you create a learning environment that is both stimulating and supportive?

I believe that in order to learn, fun must be on time! As there is nothing more difficult than learning something by teasing yourself and without having a clue what it will be used for.

The goal of teaching is to simplify concepts so that they become 'easy'. This teaching must be done in a friendly manner, with a sense of humor, and interaction with the students. And what I find important is to say and make people feel that there are no stupid questions and that I would never "mock" a student for a "silly" question!

By also focusing on competition. Many students naturally strive to be competitive. We must not overdo it and eliminate those who are lagging behind, but the spectacle of the podium should be a stimulus and encouragement of effort should be part of the curriculum.

With experience, I give them "tricks" (which I greatly appreciate) to either retain or understand a concept! Giving concrete examples relevant to my practice is also greatly appreciated!

What professional development opportunities have you pursued to improve your teaching practice?

It is necessary for the teacher to start developing all his abilities related to education and communication from the beginning of his graduation from the university and his desire to be a teacher, and this development is sustainable and continuous. The teacher develops himself in many ways, including:

First: The participation of the teacher in courses that are concerned with giving skills related to teaching, or the involvement of the educational institution for him through holding them in the same school by specialists and supervisors. And thus increase his efficiency in dealing with them, for example.

Second: Keeping pace with technological developments and learning on various platforms and programs, so that the teacher can effectively integrate technology into the education of his students, and move away from traditional methods of managing classes, and be able to create educational videos and use platforms, for example during distance learning, the teacher needs to have a lot of usage skills Computer and the Internet, and schools made special platforms and taught and developed the skills of teachers to be able to use them.

Third: The professional aspect includes the aspect of human relations and communication skills, with colleagues and managers, and not only the aspect of teaching students and their teaching methods, therefore; It is necessary for the teacher to develop his communication skills and the skills of dealing with the work environment, because any person, whatever his work, needs these skills, so how about if he is a teacher? He deals with students, with colleagues, with his managers, and with parents as well, and good communication leads to the success of the teacher professionally, attracting students, and leaving a good impression on his colleagues.

At present, higher education is very expensive. What is your opinion on this, or is there any alternative to it?

Sometimes your going to university is a result of pressure, whether pressure comes from parents, friends, or society in general. Most people are unaware of the fact that not everyone wants to participate in the traditional model of higher education, especially in some countries that suffer from the high costs of education.

Fortunately, there are several other ways that help you succeed in life, enjoy your time, and collect money in more rational ways. According to research, the total cost of education and fees spent by students in the state at a public university for four years amounts to huge amounts, and in private universities exponentially, this money You can save it and launch your own business.

We live in a digital age, which enables you to attend online courses, webinars and conferences, technology allows you to expand your network of professional knowledge and learn from the most successful businessmen around the world, there are a lot of things you can do but you must first make sure of You do not want to complete your university education.

Going to university is not the only way to succeed in life. Life can bring you opportunities that you could never imagine if you are brave enough to try. You don't have to try the standard model of education in order to achieve success in life.
