Greetings to the good people of Steem for Bangladesh. I am John Esang @kemsyluv, from Nigeria. I am very happy to participate in this exciting contest... The Wonders of Science ...It Is an interesting topic because science revolves around every facet of life.
Science has helped build a great civilization. - What is your opinion on this matter? |

First of all let us understand the subject matter Science.
According to Cristian Violatti, published in World History Encyclopedia on 28 May 2014, the term science comes from Latin word scientia, meaning "knowledge" it can be defined as a systematic attempt to discover by means of observation and reasoning particular facts about the world and to establish laws connecting facts with one another.source
we can see that humans have always been inquisitive, trying to understand the nature and it universe, why certain things behave the way they behave through observation.
Therefore it is true to say that science can be traced back to the prehistory or prehuman history where they use stone tools (that is causing friction to make fire) also using symbols, marks and images to write and communicate with one another in some thousand years ago.
To this day, many Scientists such as, Isaac Newton, Thomas Edison, just to mention a few, have come and gone, leaving an impeccable impact in our lives, in the area of Transportation, Communication, Agriculture, Food, Educationa Health and more.
Thereby, making our lives a lot easier to live.

I can't even begin to phantom how the world will be without science. As stated early, science has brought enormous blessings to humanity in all sphere of life and make our lives convenient to live. So without science, our world will be archaic, and static (no development).
Because of science today we have fastest means of transportation. Where our parents used to paddle canoe and spend 3 months before getting to their destinations,
with the advent of speed boat, sea truck and more they can reach the same kilometers within 3 to 4 hours. Cars and airplanes have replaced Camel transportation.
Science as help in producing technologies that make processing and cooking our food easier. Where we used firewood, mortar pistol or grinding stone to prepare our food,
today we have gas cooker, electric blender, freeze and more things to prepare/preserve our food.
With the help of science, today we have vaccines to fight against diseases and pandemics, for instance, COVID-19.
We can see and communicate with our love once in a long distance through video calls. So living in a world without the advent of science, the world will be a boring and difficulty place.

It will be Thomas Alva Edison.
Edison was born in Milan Ohio USA, in February 11th 1874 and died in October 18th 1931 in West Orange New Jersey USA. He was an American inventor and a businessman source
I chose Thomas Edison because of it plenty inventions which has a magnificent impact in our lives. Such inventions include electric power generation, mass communication, sound recording/ motion pictures, electric bulb telegram devices, phonogram carbon transmitter and gramophone.
If I was opportune to meet with Thomas Edison, I will ask him how was he able to blend being a businessman and inventor? What was the challenges he faced and how was he able to overcome the challenges? This question is very important because a lot of our youths are very lazy, they get easily discouraged when met with disappointment. So the examples of the resilient spirit display by these Scientists is worthy of emulation.

Though there are different areas in which science as impacted our lives positively, below are 3 different areas of scientific discoveries.
TRANSPORTATION. The impact of science in the area of transportation cannot be argued. It is now possible to travel a very long distance in just few hours with ease.
VACCINES/TREATMENT... This is a well known fact that the earnest effort of scientist has helped in combating diseases and prevention of deaths. Through research, they provide treatment to cure some deadly sickness
COMMUNICATION... Today because of scientific technologies, we can easily communicate with our love once in a long distance. We get first-hand information without distortion. Because of this fast means of communication, a lot of lives have been saved.
In conclusion, though in life we have both negative and positive aspects or disadvantage and advantage but when it comes to science, the advantage outweigh the disadvantage.
Truly science is a gift to humanity.

Even I find him as an interesting personality. A man who said he had not failed but just found 99 ways that won't work is definitely somebody to be inspired by.

I agree science have impacted the human lives in general,science opened our eyes to so many invincibilities we never knew were with us. Science is a project that moves us out of hypothetical dependence and toward reality. Now we are constantly involved with science. It is true that breakthroughs in science have introduced us to modern civilization. Your curiosity really turned into my curiosity about how Thomas Alva Edison influenced himself with so many inventions.
