This is me @kathy-cute from Philippines and you are here Reading my Blog. I hope you all are enjoying the 12th season here. I am participating in the fourth week of this season. This is my participation in a contest The Wonder of Science.
Science has helped build a great civilization. - What is your opinion on this matter? |

This is statement is very much right. Science has greatly helped us in bringing our lives to this comfort level. We have all the facilities these days, It's only because of science. I can say that science is the mother of all the invention these days.
Now let me answer how science effect our civilization? Every civilization is affected by the activities in it. For example civilization before us has passed they were very strong, brave and barbaric, it's because wars, fights and these things were common that time. So being physically strong and wars were the part of that civilization.
Now these days everyone is focusing on new inventions and discoveries. People are doing researches, experiments and observations, so science has become a prominent part of our civilization. Now which ever way science moves, our civilization moves that way.
How do you think our lives would be if there was no science? |

I believe we would still be in premitive time, where people used to live in mountains caves. All the facilities in the form of Health, Transport, communication, agriculture, industries and many other things, we would be lacking it. I believe even we would be unaware of these things. We might have a very hard life, like of the people before us.
Now people from Africa or other under developed countries are a practical example of it. They don't have to much awareness and they haven't studied science yet, they are still living at primitive age. They have very tough life. Even in this too much developmental era they don't have basics technology with them.
If you could ask a famous scientist one question, who would it be, and what would you ask? |

I sometime when sit alone and think about these scientists my mind stop working. They have given us Laws and theories which is too hard for us to memorize it. Even they are already present with us and are explained to us, but still we find it too much hard to understand it and memorize it. See how genius they are, that they have discovered it for the first time.
Ofcourse they all are super genius and if I ever get a chance I would really love to meet all the scientists in the world. Yeah my most favorite is Isaac Newton and I want to ask question from him.
My question to Sir Isaac Newton will be about gravity and that Apple incident. Sir is it true that an apple has fallen on your head, and were you thinking before about gravity, and let's suppose that apple hasn't fallen on your head, would you still be able to discovered gravity? this will be my question to the genius Sir Isaac.

We have hundred and millions of discoveries which we should always be thankful for. I believe if you bring someone from 16th century or 17th century and show him these modern technologies and discoveries, I believe he will die of amazement again.
Who could imagine of Such big Airplane flying in the air in 16th century. Who could think of Mobile and video call, you can see some thousands miles away from you in 17th century.
The most amazing three discoveries which I think is very helpful for human beings are; Mobile, Airplane/Aeroplanes and internet. Without mobile life these days is possible. A person can live without one kidney, but can't without mobile.It has made communication very easy for us. Aeroplane makes the traveling easy, and through internet we can know about the whole world with just a one click.

Dear, you can ask scientist Newton a nice question. Did the apple fall on his head? Very different question. Then you wrote about three wonderful discoveries. Mobile, airplane and internet are three amazing inventions you have seen. I also agree with you, no one in the 16th century ever thought that science would make it easier for us with the use of smart phones, internet. I think all discoveries, big or small, are wonderful. Without science we would have to travel from one place to another on foot. Clothes were made of tree leaves. Then people would die for lack of treatment. Your writing about science is very beautiful. I am compelled to believe your word. Every now and then I see the news of various African countries, where primitive conditions still prevail. Not getting proper food, not getting proper communication system, not getting proper clothes etc. Meanwhile, we can understand the contribution of science by looking at real examples. Maybe they can't enjoy it because of money but we are going to do it and see real evidence, nice to read your post, keep it up. Best wishes to you.
