          INTRODUCTION

Hello friends of Steem For Bangladesh, welcome to a new week of SEC, where we we will learn and create great content on the Steemit platform. For this week, I am excited to write a review of my most special food.

Food is needed by all humans to grow well. The body needs necessary nutrients, that is why we eat food.
Everyone have this special food they love. I also have a special food that whenever it is cooked, I am happy and delighted. I will be writing on this special food.

What is the name of the special food?

I have a lot of food I enjoy, but the one that tops it all is Afang Soup. It is a traditional soup in the southern part of Nigeria. The food is mostly known to be cooked by Akwa Ibom/Cross river people. I enjoy this soup a lot. Whenever this soup is cooked at home, I am always delighted eating this soup.

Where did you eat this food? Or if you have a recipe, you can share it.

I cooked and prepared the soup at home, so I will be sharing the recipe here.

The ingredients needed for this soup are:

1. PXL_20240409_082553232.jpgCrayfish
2. PXL_20240409_082625625.PORTRAIT.jpgFish
3. PXL_20240409_082713408.PORTRAIT.jpgStockfish
4. PXL_20240409_082743812.PORTRAIT.jpgCow skin Meat
5. PXL_20240409_084210535.PORTRAIT.jpgWater Leaf

Other ingredients include: Seasoning cubes, Afang leaf, oil, periwinkles (optional), salt, water, red meat and pepper.

        Preparation Procedures

The afang leaf is cut and grounded. The water leaf is picked, washed and cut. The fish, Stockfish and periwinkles are prepared and washed thoroughly. The pepper and crayfish are also grounded.

The Stockfish is then cooked for some minutes(to make it soft), the meat and fish are seasoned and cooked also.

Then the water leaf and periwinkle is added to the fish, stock fish and meat (both cow skin and red meat) and allowed to steam for 10-15 minutes depending on the fire level. Remember to put a quantity of salt depending on the quantity of your soup to avoid it being salty.

After which grounded crayfish, pepper, and red oil is added. Allow to steam again for some 5 minutes then put the grounded afang leaf, mixed it using a spoon, then allow to steam again for 1-2 minutes. Then your food is ready to be eaten.

Why is this food the most special food you eat in your life?

PXL_20240409_090114731.PORTRAIT.jpg

This food is carefully and specially prepared. It is one of the best soups I love because it is very delicious. It is also easy to prepare. Away from being really delicious, it is very nutritious also. The taste of afang soup is always heavenly.

And why would you encourage everyone to eat this food?

PXL_20240409_090204234.PORTRAIT.jpg

I encourage everyone to eat this food because of how nutritious it is in vitamins and proteins and also because the soup is very delicious. Whenever you are in Nigeria, always asked for the afang soup to be prepared for you. It is one of the best delicacies in Nigeria.

Thank you for going through my review of my special food.

I invite @vudeme123, @bossj23 and @nsijoro to participate in this contest as the review their food.

Afang soup, it has been months since I tasted this delicacy. It is something I eat very often when I was at my home town but where I am it is very hard to come by. You really got all the ingredients ready and the steps you used to prepare it is great. Very delicious

Yeah afang soup... Let me confess immediately I saw a plate of afang soup garnish with periwinkle my stomach began to rumbled and coincidentally my neighbor is cooking afang soup as I am typing now,and I'm also perceiving the aroma. Oh God why are you people doing this to me na 😀😀 see the way I'm salivating. Do you do delivery because it seems like it packed for delivery. I think my next pot of soup would be a pot of afang soup. Best of luck to you

Well I am also loving soup but fully vegetarian soup like hot n sour soup, tomato soup. I was reading your soup and I was okay but when I saw cow skin meat as ingredients, I became disappointed because in India We worship Cow. In our country Cow reassemble God and we believe that we worship Cow so all God mighty will be happy and you are eating it's skin meat. I am sorry but I have shared just opinion. I respect you . Nature had given so many things to eat why do we kill others to fulfill our appetite. I like the way you present your post step by step. I am sorry if I hurts you .

No problem, it doesn't hurt. I respect your opinion. In my culture we eat cow. Thank you for dropping your opinion.

Yes I do understand, every country has different eating life style. I just wrote my opinion and eat Cow meat is sin in my country. People hate that person who eat cow but I am open minded and I consider you as my friend because you are not from our country so you don't know what is basic values and ethics behind this. No problem. Enjoy your food.

Wowww afghan soup look so tasty i also want to try this because i never try these kind of food in my life. You explain your food in a good way.
