Hello Steemians, welcome to my post. I am excited to participate in this challenge which I have talked about "Season of My Country".
How many seasons are in your country? Which one is your favorite and why?

My country which is Nigeria has two seasons which are dry season and wet season. The wet season is the season that begins from the months of April down to October, whereas the dry season is the season that begins from November to March.
The wet season is my favorite season because it is the season where I can eat fresh fruits, and vegetable leaves, sleep comfortably without heat, experience good temperatures as the weather is usually cool, and also have a surplus of water.
If there was one season you wanted to skip forever, which one would it be? Explain the reason.
If there was one season I wanted to skip forever, it would be the dry season. The reason why I would want to skip the dry season forever is that during the dry season, people suffer a lot from mosquito bites, the hotness of the weather, too much heat, lack of water, and shortage of food.
During the dry season in Nigeria, like what we experienced in Nigeria some months ago is too much heat because of the hotness of the weather, and people find it difficult to sleep in their houses also buying fresh farm products was a problem.
Describe a traditional or special activity that people in your country do during a particular season.
Let me talk about the wet season in Nigeria. During the wet season there, are a lot of traditional and special activities that people in Nigeria do. In the wet season, the most common activity that Nigerians do is farming as it is a season of farming.
Also, as for traditional activities, during the wet season, you will see Nigerians celebrating the New Yam Festival is the most cultural festival in Nigeria.
The New Yam Festival usually takes place towards the end of the wet season which is around August. The New Yam Festival is a period where people (tribes) celebrate nature and show gratitude to God for providing for them.
Are there any special foods or drinks that people in your country enjoy most during certain seasons? If so, what is it and why?
Yes, during the wet season, Nigeria enjoys a variety of food such as New Yam, vegetable leaves, and several others. The most common food that is enjoyed mostly and corn 🌽. During the wet season, you will be seeing roasted and cooked corn surplus in Nigeria.
However, besides corn which seems to be the special food, Yam is the most special food during the wet season as it is celebrated annually in Nigeria, which I have discussed in this very post.

One is different from other. Nature changes it look in every season. By reading you post I come to know that there are two seasons in your country. Some like most winter and some like other seasons but you nothing dislike because every seasons is important for us. and the hottest season of your country is summer.The temperature is high in this time. In Nigeria, the wet season is celebrated with traditional activities such as farming and the New Yam Festival, where gratitude is expressed for the abundance of nature. Special foods like corn and yam are enjoyed during this season, adding to the cultural richness and prosperity of the country. The wet season brings a sense of community and appreciation for the land.
