Contest | World Refugee Day
Greetings my dear friends of Steemit and Steem For Bangladesh
✅ What does "refugee" mean in your own words? Is this day celebrated in your country?
Refugees are those people who were displaced from their country of origin as a result of persecution, conflict and violence.
Refugees and displaced persons can come from any part of the world. They can be young or old from the city or the country. Refugees are people who have to leave their home because it is not safe for them to live. There may be there is a war this means that people are fighting and it is dangerous.
Although displaced people might have to leave because there is a drought and there's nothing to eat or perhaps there is a flood and their home is swept away
World Refugee Day is regularly celebrated in India on 20 June every year. Though India did not sign the 1951 treety but they recognise the importance of international cooperation to provide shelter and support to refugees.
✅ Name a country that is known for hosting a large number of refugees. What is current situation of them ?
Türkiye hosts nearly 3.8 million refugees. Türkiye hosts the largest population of refugees worldwide.
Displaced people returning home:
1990-2000 Around 15 million
2000-2010 > Around 10 million
2010-2020 > Only 3.9 million
There is no data for last five years.
Conflicts are continuing for and refugees are not able to return in the same numbers as previous decades.
✅ How do you think children who are refugees might be affected by leaving their homes?
Around half of these people are children. Refugee children need a safe home to live with their family a chance to go to school and a place to play good food and clean water to grow and be healthy and doctors if they are sick. Like all children they want to live in peace and follow their dreams.
There are many different ways you can help you can help your school to collect food or donations for charities that help refugees but you can also help by smiling being friendly to new people in your community makes them feel welcome
Unfortunately it is very upsetting that a person has bought a paket of Parle G biscuit at a very high price in Gaza as his child is very fond of it. This biscuits were sent by India Government as relife which is supposed to be freely distributed to children.
✅ If you could send a message of hope to a refugee. What would it say?
I would only hope that the wealthy nations of the world would understand that the problem could be solved that people didn't want to leave the countries that they were in and that we should be spending most of our effort and all of our extra capital improving conditions in the countries and I have only sympathy for them.
Before I conclude I would like to invite three fellow Steemians to participate in the contest

Thank you for reading my post.
Leaving your original home for whatever reason can be so traumatic especially for children. I hope the world would become a better place one day where we will have no reason to flee our home to any unknown place.
Nice content, best wishes and thank you for the invitation.
