My thought about global warming and climate change ||by @hasina78

I am here to participate in the contest announced by @msharif vai. Our present contest is on a very important topic, that is:

Global warming is a kind of phenomenon of climate change. It is characterized by a general increase in the average temperature of the earth that modifies the weather balances and ecosystems for a long time. We know that it is directly linked to the increase of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere and the worsening of the greenhouse effect.

It is a long-term shift in the temperatures and weather patterns. These shifts may be natural, it may be through variations in the solar cycle. We, human, is the main cause of climate change.

Though the greenhouse effect is a natural phenomenon, the increase in greenhouse gases is obviously linked to human activities. The world's famous scientists believe that human activities are the main cause of global warming since the mid-twentieth century. The last three decades have been warmer than the previous decades since the static surveys in 1850.

Obviously, the massive use of fossil fuels is the first source of global warming. The burning of coal, oil, and gas produces the carbon-dioxide as well as nitrous oxide. It really increases the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

Another main reason for global warming and climate change is the exploitation of forests. We know that trees help regulate the climate by absorbing CO2 from the atmosphere. But when these trees are cut down, this positive effect is lost and the carbon stored in the trees is released into the atmosphere.

Another major cause of global warming is intensive farming. With the ever-increasing livestock, plant protection products, use of fertilizer, etc. cattle, and sheep produce a large amount of methane when digesting their food, and the use of fertilizers produces nitrous oxide emissions.

At present we are highly dependent on the mining and metallurgical industry. Here metals and minerals are the raw materials used in the construction, transportation, and manufacturing of goods. This process accounts for 5% of all greenhouse gas emissions.

The continuous increase of temperatures and the climate upheavals disturb the ecosystems. It modifies the conditions and the cycles of plant reproduction. One of the major reasons to change the habits and migratory cycles of animals is the scarcity of resources and climate change. We already lost many species of birds, animals, and crops because of this climate change

The most warning thing is that the permafrost and ice are melting massively at the poles because of global warming which increasing the sea level at a rate that is really alarming. And it is the main cause of Flood, Cyclone, etc. The rate in a century, the increase reached 18 cm including 6 cm in the last 20 years. The acidic level is also increasing in the ocean. The large amount of CO2 captured by the oceans makes them more acidic which threatens the coral and reefs and the living things under oceans. We can see this happening with our beautiful Saint Martin.

Human beings are also at great risk. Climate change is consistently affecting the global economy. The effect of global warming and climate change can be seen in every aspect of a human being like health, food, and social and geopolitical balances.

The impact of global warming and climate change on the weather is huge. We can see around the world more drought and heat waves, more precipitations, more natural disasters like floods, hurricanes, storms and wildfires, frost-free, etc.

We should move away from fossil fuels to prevent climate change. We may renewable energies like solar, wind, biomass and geothermal, etc. now a day we can see most high-rise building has solar power system. It’s a good sign.

We can reduce our consumption of energy and water by using more efficient alternatives like LED light bulbs,, innovative water-using systems, etc.

If we promote public transportation, carpooling, use of electric and hydrogen mobility, etc. can definitely help reduce CO2 emissions and fights global warming.

In order to reduce the emissions from the buildings mostly caused by heating, air conditioning, heater, and lighting we should build low-energy buildings and renovate the existing constructions.

To reduce global warming and climate change we can encourage better use of natural resources, and take necessary steps to stop massive deforestation. We should plant more trees to help the atmosphere.

It is difficult to adopt responsible consumption habits but it will be helpful in this aspect. We should be responsible for using food, clothing, cosmetics, or cleaning products. It will be a great help if we recycle the waste.
