National Festival

Hello Steemian wherever you are, especially in the Steem for Bangladesh community. Best regards to all of you and may you always be in a healthy and happy state, so that you can live your days with happiness.

Every country in this part of the world has its uniqueness and traditions, these traditions and uniqueness form a culture that is sometimes always celebrated and held in the form of festivals. The custom makes these countries widely known in by many other people from various countries, ranging from festivals that are full of joy, colorful, and even festivals that seem terrible or creepy. It all makes the festival a unique one that is interesting to see and celebrate every year, from different countries and specific communities.

In Indonesia where I live, there are many interesting and unique festivals every year, almost all of the 38 provinces have their festivals and traditions. Starting from being known locally to Abroad, This is what makes Indonesia rich in festivals.

Referring to the actual meaning of the Festival is a big party that is carried out festively, to commemorate something. For that, I am happy to be able to share some information about the festival in Indonesia so that it can be interesting information.

What is the national festival of your country? How did it start

The Festival I want to inform you about is the Reog Festival in Ponorogo Regency.
This Festival is an annual cultural festival held in the city of Ponorogo on the anniversary of the city, this festival in the local language is called Grebeg Suro. Reog itself is a dance art that uses a large tiger-shaped mask, a large tiger mask with a combination of very wide brand feathers is called Barong also known as Dadak Merak weighing up to 40 kilograms more. By his last name Reog Ponorogo is a Reog dance originating from the city of Ponorogo, so this dance is called the Reog Ponorogo dance.

Every year in celebration of the city will be held Reog dance witnessed by thousands of people from abroad, the uniqueness of this dance lies in a large mask with a blend of unique dance movements. It is said that according to the story of Reog Ponorogo dance has magical or mystical elements but has spirit values and becomes a community culture.

How is this festival celebrated? Are there any special rules for celebrating it?

This Festival is held only in the city of Ponorogo East Java, the square or community gathering center is where the event is held. Several Reog competitions will be held before the peak of this Festival, the implementation of this Festival is generally held on the night of 1 Muharram which coincides with 1 Suro in the Javanese calendar which is one of the largest tribes in Indonesia.

Reog Ponorogo is a cultural festival that is very famous in Indonesia and even become a famous festival and cultural heritage of Indonesia.

Are there any special outfits or foods for celebrating your national festival?

As I mentioned above the dancers (barong) who bring the art of dance Reog Ponorogo, will use a large mask-headed hairy Tiger Brand big enough called Dadak Merak. Another complement is the mask of Bujang Ganong, Bujang Ganong is one of the figures in the dance. Special clothing for pullers also looks unique and interesting, this clothing is called Warok Ponorogo.

Tell us about your favorite memory from celebrating your national festival.

I have never come directly to the city of Ponorogo to see this festival, but on one occasion when I was in the capital city of Jakarta I have seen this Ponorogo Reog dance. This memory happened about 20 years ago when I was invited on vacation with my big family, at that time I was still a junior high school student.

The unique costumes and dances that are full of spirit and look a little magical, make me admire this dance and also about the festival.

This is all I can share with you all, I invite @dasudi, @lil.albab, and also @asnita0110 to participate, best regards to all of you.

Dear @fantvwiki,, Greetings to this contest,,

There are many festivals in our country which are centered around a city or a village but they are not less in splendor and tradition. Hundreds of people also flock to celebrate them, and spontaneously participate to complete the festival. One such popular festival is the Riog Festival in Ponoroga. Which is celebrated as the anniversary of the establishment of this city. Since you are so curious about the festival that you enjoyed 20 years ago, it must be a great and enjoyable festival. I pray that you can enjoy this event very soon. Keep the best work.

Welcome @fantvwiki! It's great to hear from you and learn about the Reog Festival in Ponorojo, Indonesia. Your description beautifully captures the vibrancy and cultural significance of this unique celebration. Your memories of watching Ryog dance in Jakarta, despite not being able to attend the festival in Ponorogo itself, highlight the broad appeal and pride Indonesians take in their cultural festivals. Thank you for sharing this wonderful glimpse into Indonesian culture. I wish you great happiness and health as you continue to explore and celebrate the unique festivals of your homeland. Best luck in the contest!

Hello friend, @fantvwiki
This festival in your country seems interesting to me and made some questions. What is the reason for using mooyu feathers with this tiger-shaped mask? You said it weighs 40 kilos, I think it weighs a lot. Does one man dance using this mask? I want to see it from the front. Indeed, this festive dress and mask of your country looks attractive and there is a reason for this. Good luck to you.
