Happiness means different things to many people. To me, happiness is a state of mine of being excited and looking forward to the next moment. It that feeling that makes you glad to be alive and being happy to face the future. Happiness is an emotional state where one is satisfied and fulfilled at that moment. In life, everyone has been happy at one time or the other, even for 1 minute.
I have had days of happy moments. If I want to rate myself over 100 in happiness, sincerely, I would give myself 60 percent. Life hasn't been all rosey tho it's said that happiness it's the state of mind. It really takes a strong and courageous, optimistic person to face some things in life and still remain happy everyday, and maybe I'm not one of those persons. As an introvert and a melancholy, I rarely display emotions of happiness, but the times I have had to show my emotions, everyone around me notices I'm happy. I'm happy waking up everyday to a beautiful day because that alone is enough reason to be happy.

What generally makes me happy is knowing I have touched someone's life through kind gestures. Kindness makes the world a happy place, just one little act of kindness like giving up your chair fir an elderly person can spread happiness to the next person. Also, being able to fulfill my plans for the day also gets me excited, fulfilling my dreams makes my face light up in happiness. Making a new friend is another thing that makes me happy. Praying to God and seeking His face brings me happiness and peace indescribable. Some physical activities also makes me very happy. Like going to the cinema to see a movie, having a new thriller novel to read, going outing with friends who have a positive mindset also makes me very happy.
Being with someone with a positive mindset makes happiness spread
I have also had my dad moments tho I think the happy moments have been more. I have lost loved ones, I have failed in some things I tried my hands on, I have lost some money, I have had people look down on me and call me names which has made me sad. I have been sad over not being given admission to my choice course. One of the saddest moments in my life was when I was posted to an interior village for my NYSC. I was devastated.

What makes you smile?
What makes me smile is someone making my day with kind gestures. Also, remembering a great moment I had with loved ones makes me smile. Playing or cracking jokes with my students makes me smile. Professionals say that smiling reduces blood pressure and makes one younger, so I smile when there is need for it.
Does the weather ever affect how you feel?
Sometimes, the weather affects how I feel. For example if the weather is too hot, I feel tired, stressed, sad and cranky. On a very rainy day, when I'm at home and have nowhere to go, I feel happy because there are movies to watch or novels to read without a care in the world. On other rainy days when I have where to go and the rain stops me, I feel pissed and angry. A cloudy weather makes me gloomy, tired and lazy but happiness shouldn't stop due to the weather.
Do you think people in your country are generally happy people?
People on my country, Nigeria, are generally happy people despite what they face from the leaders of the country. About twenty years ago, Nigeria was named the country with the happiest people in the world. This is because Nigerians turn whatever they face to fun. Thet are happy when they watch football together, when they eat as a family, they also express their happiness through music even though some music is hilarious like the man that sang a song about Peter Obi, the presidential candidate and labour party. They love partying and socialising which gives them happiness. They express their happiness in wedding ceremonies and use hilarious slogans to express themselves like the popular 'No free for anybody' which came out early this year.
Happiness comes in little ways.
