What is the national festival of your country? How did it start

The national festival of our country is Bengali New Year (Pahela Baisakh). We celebrate this festival as a national festival in our country. A traditional festival of the Bengali nation. This festival is celebrated at the end of Chaitra month i.e. after the spring season, at the beginning of summer season, when Chaitra Sankranti ends, on Pahela Baisakh, the Bengali nation celebrates this festival with fanfare.

How is this festival celebrated? Are there any special rules for celebrating it?

In this festival, the Oxford of the East of Bangladesh, which was once called, Dhaka University. On the first day of Baisakh, Mangal Shobha Yatra started from Dhaka University, starting with fine art, going to Bakul via Shahbagh and ending with different kinds of Bengali traditions in this Shobha Yatra. Different types of Bengali culture such as Bashi, Dotara, Ektara, Dhol, Balun and many more come up around this festival.

Are there any special outfits or foods for celebrating your national festival?

Various types of food are organized around our festival. Although we celebrate this festival as a national festival. But the list of all the food in this festival. But it is not possible for everyone to eat or organize. The special dish of this Bengali festival is panta bhaat with fried hilsa, dry chili and some types of bharta. The price of hilsa fish is three times higher around this festival. So not everyone can buy. Still, everyone tries to eat this food.

Tell us about your favorite memory from celebrating your national festival.

I will never forget that I have some memories attached to this day of Pahela Baisakh. I remember when I was in class eight. We three friends stayed up all night to make kites on the eve of Pahela Baisakh. I made kites mainly to sell. Because next day Pahela Boishakh fair will be held two kilometers away from our village. We three friends went to the fair with these kites. The sky condition was good in the morning. When we went to the fair, the sky was not so good. We have made about a hundred kites. But sadly, we didn't sell a single kite. We three friends were so upset that we left all the kites there in anger. Another memory I have in this national festival is that I went to Dhaka University. Before leaving the sky was very good and there was a lot of sun. Suddenly the storm started. All of us who have gone are in bad condition. But I saw a woman with a small child in her arms. Covering it with mother's achal. Still, the storm means more. I was very sad to see.

This tradition of Pahela Boishakh is a pride of our Bengali nation which is celebrated by people of all castes and religions together. The Department of Fine Arts of Dhaka University leads it where it begins with the Mangal Sobhayatra. Panta hilsa eating and cultural events at Ramna Batmule. It is really sad that you could not sell even one kite due to natural calamities. Good luck to you.

I am very glad to know your opinion about the festivals found in your country. In a very good way you have told us about them. Some of the festivals found in your country are Islamic festivals and some are Islamic festivals. There are traditional festivals like the tradition festival you have described so beautifully Baisakhi Baisak which is a really traditional festival it includes activities that are not included in any other festival it has a unique set of activities that You people take part in and enjoy them, like the food of this festival is different from other festivals, the clothes worn on it are different from other festivals, you know it very well. Enjoy and this is a New Year's gift to you.

Hello @azit1980! Your story about the Pahela Baisakh is truly captivating! It's fascinating to see how this national holiday is celebrated with such passion and tradition. The description of the Mangal Shobha Yatra procession and special foods like panta bhaat with fried hilsa brings this cultural celebration to life. Your personal memories add an authentic touch to your story, particularly the touching anecdote of the woman protecting her child during the storm at the University of Dhaka. Thanks for sharing these memorable moments with us and good luck in the competition!
