The pandemic story:MY EXPERIENCES
Thanks giving to Almighty God for His protection and guidance. I deemed it necessary because many people lost their lives since the broke out of Covid-19 pandemic. Today I'm writing this story because I'm still alive and you are reading it because the Almighty God guided and protected us both. I'm writing to tell my experience of Covid-19 in my country, Ghana.
To start with, Covid-19 as the name indicate was first discovered in Wuhan ,China on 31 December 2019. Coronavirus is form of virus which found in animals. Scientists refer to this form of virus as zoonotic. Thus, it can be transferred from animal human being. Coronavirus easily affect people with weak immune. The virus can transmit from animal to human beings if there is a contact and from from human being to another as well. Cough , sneeze , handshake among other are ways to contract the virus.
Signs and symptoms of coronavirus include cough , fever , high body temperature etc. There were protocol given by health experts to curb the spread of coronavirus. This includes washing of hands with soap and water , covering your mouth when coughing , wearing of nose mask etc.
I'm @proto1 from Ghana , West Africa. This is a brief statistical information of coronavirus in Ghana based on World Health Organization (WHO) data. It indicates that "In Ghana, from 3 January 2020 to 4:52pm CEST, 9 June 2021, there have been 94,228 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 787 deaths, reported to WHO. As of 8 June 2021, a total of 1,228,216 vaccine doses have been administered" source. The data above show how the pandemic has caused Ghana negatively.I had experienced in different forms in terms of social life, economic life religious life , education sector and many more.
First and foremost, I would like to talk about my experience in education sector . When covid-19 made it into Ghana , life has never been the same like it used to be. Covid-19 kept spreading and as a result , government closed down both public and private schools in the country. I have never experienced this before until in the period covid-19 in Ghana my beloved country. I stayed at home for good nine months before schools were reopened . The decision to closed down schools by the government was to protect students from being expose to the virus. This decision distorted the academy calendar used to ran the education system in my country and authorities are still working to set it back on track.
Socially, I experienced few uncomfortable periods as well. There was a directive from government of Ghana which banned social gathering up to date. People are therefore not allowed to gather in large numbers to perform any activity. I never had such experience before covid-19. I also had the experienced of social distancing . A protocol to help reduce body contact among people.
I experienced lockdown during the prime time of the pandemic. It was my first time ever to witnessed a lockdown. The lockdown of regions and closure of borders both land and air by the government was initiated to prevent people from coming into the country with the virus and to reduce the spread regionally. Business scrambled and people suffered because they weren't allowed to go to work. It brought economic hardship in the country.
In conclusion I would be expressing my religious experience during the covid-19 period. Due to tht banned to social gathering, congregation prayers both in churches and mosques . Coronavirus caused me great displeasures .
