Year 2020 was the toughest year for me as an individual and for my country Nigeria.
Sometimes i feel like i shouldn't be reminded of such a dreadful moment that took the lives of so many, render people homeless and jobless.
But it was an eye opener to us as a nation.
For our leaders to know that smooth sea does not make skillful sailors.
And it is only in the days of trouble that you will know who a true leader is.
It was at that point we realized that our leaders, both the past and the present have been neglecting the health sector. It was when they noticed the severity of the damages caused by the Pandemic that they started building health centers across the country.

Lagos State and Abuja recorded the highest number of Covid19 cases and death. And the painful part of it is that the health workers were not fully equipped with the necessary tools and equipments to tackle it.
And we had a case where the Nigerian resident doctors threatened to go on strike because of unpaid allowances.
The loggerheads between the federal government and the health workers further culminate the situation, and it was only God who helped us suppressed the effect of the Pandemic.
The Covid19 pandemic really affected both the public and the private sector, but the private sector really suffered for it.
People were instructed to stay indoors at the initial stage until they were able to come up with the idea of nose mask and hand sanitizer.
In an attempt to salvage the problem, the government of Nigeria declared lockdown of every activities in the country. So many loss their lives, jobs and resources.
The pandemic came like sleep that even the fiercest leader in the world was affected, and Nigerian leaders were not exempted.
The idea of lockdown was to help reduce the spread of the virus.

Personally, Covid19 is something i will never wish my enemy.
Working in the hospitality industry,we were unable to have guests coming in to patronize us, and it really affected the business to a point that the owner decided to release some of the staffs and i was included.

With family responsibilities on my head,I had a lot to deal with.
It wasn't easy on how to feed myself, my sick mother and late father without a job.

And the situation really taught never to forget saving for rainy days.
I can't mention days i had to go to bed without food, with fear of not being able to see the next day, but gradually we are getting our lives back here in Nigeria.
No more lock down, businesses is opening and the economy is making progress.
The Covid19 era was to our disadvantage because we loss so many lives,we had to close down our businesses which really affected the economy.
I believe that if we successfully eliminate Covid19, we are going to learn a great lesson and avoid making mistakes as regards the health sector in the post Covid19 era.

I made it successful through the year 2020. I deserve to be commended.
This is my story and that of my country @supo1
