Ungrateful Love
How are you today? Trust you are doing great.
Take time to go through this as it will help to grow better in Faith.
Forgiveness is easy when it is asked for… or at least easier. Love comes naturally for those who shower us with love. Neither of these things require help from God. They are natural responses, but God calls us to love deeper than what comes naturally. Jesus challenged us to love the same way God loves: When it isn’t returned or even acknowledged. Luke 6:35-36 records Jesus saying: “But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.”
Don’t miss that beautiful description of God’s love: “He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.” That sentence once described us. We were ungrateful and we were wicked… sometimes we still are. God’s love never depends on our worthiness. God’s love never depends on our acceptance or reception of that love. God’s love knows no bounds, no limits, no hesitation. Does ours? We can’t earn God’s love. Do we make others earn ours? We don’t deserve God’s love. Do we seek those who deserve our own?
Love like God’s doesn’t come easily. It doesn’t come naturally. God’s kind of love challenges us to set aside our pride. It calls us to love without reason, care without acceptance, give without ever expecting it returned. It is a mission we cannot do alone. We must lean on God. The only way we can love with this kind of beautiful and hard love, is if we are completely filled by our Heavenly Father. He answers our needs. As long as we are trying to fill in those gaps from what people have to offer we will be very disappointed. However, when we are completed by God, it won’t matter if our earthly love is returned. We love, not because the world deserves it but because it needs it. We give because we know we will never run out when we receive from the Lord. Are you ready to walk in exceptional and undeserved love?
Nobody can decide for you, it's a personal decision.
God bless you.
