Biafra Remembrance day

Today is known or is marked as the remembrance of the nigeria civil war which saw the biggest genocide in the history of mankind which took place in 1967.

It started from a failed coup that was carried out by the nigeria chief of army staff then who was a igbo man because the politicians were cheating the poor masses by taking the money meant for them and living lavish lives and also those politicians that the coup was meant for were not igbos and they were killed but the soldiers that carried that coup were arrested by another igbo military commander and what made the matter more interesting is the president at that time who was known as Nnamdi Azeikiwe flew out of the country before the coup and even the igbo prime minister was also not killed in the coup so raised suspicion from other non speaking igbo people and this led to the assassination of all the military chief that was igbo and the appointment of a notherner who is an hausa/fulani man because the nothern nigeria is a hausa dominated part of nigeria.

After the assassination of the igbo military chiefs the notherners didn't end there they continued attacking innocent igbo people until Ojukwu told all the igbos in the nothern part of nigeria to run and return to the east part of nigeria which is highly dominated by the igbos the igbos obey and returned back home, it was quiet for some time but the notherners would not stop there they kept attacking the igbos this time using the military to attack the east and kill anything they see.

The east tried defending themselves with whatever they had but the nigerian military was well funded by British, so they killed and kept killing until there was not igbo army left then they to starve the remaining survivers by blocking all the food that was sent by UN for the igbo people.

Many people died of starvation mostly children, ojukwu saw that igbo people were dying too much then he decided to surrender in 1967 when the war ended, the number of igbos that died in the war mostly because of starvation are +5 million innocent people who only wanted freedom from the nigeria state and form their own country known as Biafra.

The agitation from the people of biafra continues because justice has not yet been served for what is a war crime against the igbos, the military chief then is still alive and he has not been arrested and charged to court and also the igbo people are being cheated till today because since the civil war no igbo man has become the president nigeria even though the three main ethnic groups are igbo, hausa and yoruba, since i was born only hausa and yoruba president has ruled this country and this country is still a mess that is why the igbos want biafra a country that will move africa forward but the nigeria state still don't want igbo to go so that is what today is all about, it is a sit at home day and every biafran is respecting it.
