11th of February saw the start of one of the most prominent football competitions here in the university of benin, under the Administration of the current director of sports by name Onakpa Emmanuel who has taken the competition to another level.

This year Uniben 5 Aside competition features both male and female participation, the competition has in participation:

The competition kicked off having dignitaries in attendance, we saw the likes of the Vice-chancellor of the university, the Dean of Students, the School Director of sports, and other guests.

The competition kicked off with the likes of Engineering who won it last time out with a landslide against the faculty of life science, Engineering emerged victorious winning the game by 3 goals to 2

The female game kicked off with the faculty of Education locking horns with the faculty of management sciences where the golden Eaglets of Education came out victorious with a 2 goal to 1 margin.

So far the completion has been the talk of the school and the community around as spectators troop in en mass to watch the beautiful games while putting into consideration the covid 19 protocol and so far the people have been complying.

the man of the match for the male game went to Marvelous who was the first runner up for the best player in the school the last session while Alex from the faculty of Education won the man of the match for the female category
