Looking at Africa in the larger picture, I can rightly tell that Nigeria has really topped the charts of exponential growth.
This is seen in its ability to adapt to development and innovation.
In my own words, I must say that Nigerians are really special.

The advent of cryptocurrency was and is still one of mankind's greatest invention, an advent that will change the world.
Nigerians had already embraced the idea of cryptocurrency right from Bitcoin, which happens to be the first ever recognized cryptocurrency though amidst this wide acceptance there where and are still a good population of Nigerians without proper knowledge of what Bitcoin is, and its purpose.

Personally I got to know about cryptocurrency in 2013. By then, I just knew it to be an online money making element and I didn't know how it works, infact I actually didn't know what it does, until I joined steemit in 2018 where I came in contact with so many cryptocurrency related articles, that was how I learned better about cryptocurrency.
I must say, I've really benefited so much from steemit.

2020, a year I guess Won't be forgotten to many. To me, 2020 was more of a very controversial year, because it showed entirely different sides to different people. To some it was just a pandemic year, but others it was a year to excel.

I bought my first laptop in 2020 and wow, I was so curious to learn a lot. Amongst the few I was able to learn was crypto trading, I think the first cryptocurrency I bought was the cake coin, well the trade was very bearish so I lost a lot anyways.
For the record, the first cryptocurrency I ever had was the SBD which I earned here on to steemit in 2018.

How crypto currency has affected my life positively.

  • I must say that personally cryptocurrency as an entity has been of so much help to me Mostly, the SBD and STEEM.
The next reward I've earned from steemit though not that much, but has been of so much benefit to solving my financial problems.

  • Another way I can Say I've gained from cryptocurrency the most is through airdrops and I must confessed, most of them I got involved in were fake but some were real though.

  • I can't say I'm a good crypto trader because I must confess, I've lost more than I've gained but a few gain's I've made are So precious to me.

the negative side of cryptocurrency

  • it is without doubt that cryptocurrency is very unstable. A 200,000 Naira worth of coin cut in just hours or minutes can get devalued to worth just 10,000 Naira.

  • Personally, in my crypto account I bought three coins; the Cake coin, Dodge coin, and TLM at the rate of about 150,000 Naira which later devalued and the worth of my coin became 40,000 Naira. Sincerely I feel so pained over that but, what can I do? I just have to leave it there.

  • Making transaction usingBitcoin or any other cryptocurrency requires a higher degree or precision as any mistake could lead to irreversible loss of funds and believe me I've lost a lot of funds due to this negligence.

  • Well, particular effects hasn't affected me personally but cryptocurrency has over the years become and corrupt government officials to smoothly get away with money laundering as crypto transaction and storage is usually untraceable and very discrete.

The future of cryptocurrency in Nigeria seems threatened as a was a ban on cryptocurrency related transaction on Nigerian banks by the Nigerian government early this year 2021.

These almost lead to the extinction of cryptocurrency in Nigeria but I must say, Nigerians are really super intelligent that they where able to bypass the government limitations and yet devise means to make their crypto related transactions without direct involvement with the banks.

From my perspective, I don't really see a Nigeria that will readily accept cryptocurrency as a means of real time payments due to government's policy and also Let's take note of the fact that one cannot make use of cryptocurrency without having a device with good internet access and speaking reality, this is not something 100% of Nigerians possess. This it's self is a great limitation for cryptocurrency in Nigeria.

It is no doubt that the wide adoption of cryptocurrency amongst Nigeria is enormous and the numbers keep increasing daily, this as well gives the future of cryptocurrency a good projection

In conclusion;

In the world at large, Irrespective of the numerous hidden limiting factors, the future cryptocurrency posses high success Potential Same thing applies Here in Nigeria.
