Jealous For No Reason

An old female neighbor of mine bought me lunch today, and while we were eating, Itohan called. She was really jealous.

Remember Itohan, the bold 15years old teenager I met while serving in Benin City years ago? I made a post about her some days ago, and you guys said I should update you. I just pinned the post now, for those who didn't read it then -- it's the first thing you'll see on my wall.

She called at exactly 4:30 pm, and I told her I was at the kilimanjaro situated at Otigba.
"Are you there with anyone?" she asked.
"Yes Ito, an old neigbor is buying me lunch," I told her.

"Is she a girl?" she asked.
"Yes she is, " I replied innocently.
Prior to this day, we've had series of telephone conversations, since we reconnected in Enugu, and she kept saying "I'll take you out once I finish my exams."

I was overjoyed, seeing the manner with which she stretched the word "exams" -- the girl I groomed, is no longer afraid of writing exams, and she even reminded me of the reading formula I gave her that time.

I recall the saturday we were handling Mathematics, and she told me how angry she feels whenever her father says he won't support her going into modelling. "You can still be a model, but please listen to your father, and go to school first -- you can even be modelling while going to school," I had told her.

I would remind her of my musical ambitions, and that it didn't stop me from going to school. She would smile and say "if Corper A says he's right, then maybe my papa dey right."

So, I was happy hearing her talk about how she wrote well in her papers, as a medical student. She still has more papers according to her.

"Corper A, you know I'm no longer 15 years old? I am 25years now, so start thinking of where I'll take you to after my papers," she screamed three days ago.

So, you could imagine how she felt hearing that I was eating out with someone today. "Corper A, can I talk to her?" she asked in a funny tone.

"Alright, but don't say anything funny,"I replied, handing the phone to my neighbor.
I placed it on loudspeaker, so I could hear what she was saying.

"Hello, my name is Itohan, and he probably hasn't told you about me. Please make sure you don't fall in love with him, because I dey plan to do small something for him head."

We started laughing like mad people, and the people stealing glances at us, must have wondered what prompted such behaviour.

Itohan went on and on, trying to ensure that my neighbor was just there for the lunch😂😂 It was really laughable, yet emotional.

"Corper A, in fact can we see tomorrow?" she asked.
"Let tomorrow come Ito," I replied.
She hasn't changed in some things, and she didn't speak much pidgin today. She took me down many memory lanes.
Even when I got home today, she called to say this:
"You know I love you right? You know you're safe with me right?"

I told her that I wanted to believe her, but sometimes afraid of love. At a point I told her I believed her.
Few minutes ago, she called to just hear my voice, and I've been blushing since.🙈
Remembering certain things now, I almost shed little tears.

Like I said before: Some people come into our lives for us to improve them. I am happy with how serious she is with studies.

Let me see what time holds for this reunion. I just know it's divine, even though I don't know where it's leading to.
