Jamie's father was the Governor of their state. How He could suggest that Jamie marry their house cleaner's daughter remained a puzzle no one had succeeded in putting together. Little did the wonderers know they were in for a long ride. Three months into marriage, Jamie returned from work to see his wife on their matrimonial bed committing adultery. She didn't even shudder at his sight, rather she rode on to ecstasy. He wanted to shoot the two culprits who had the guts to ignore him despite being caught in the act, but he had no gun. He yelled at them but they replied with sensual moans, doing their business and not minding Him. They made a fool of him.
Jamie couldn't believe his eyes, He stormed out of the house. The house maid met him at the door and apologized with enormous fear "I am sorry oga, this has been going since the day after your wedding, I should have told you but I couldn't think...."
Jamie almost collapsed. He gathered whatever remained of his staggering self, and drove away. He was headed to the Governor's Lodge, after all this was all his father's fault.
The father heard him out yet made no comments. He allowed Jamie to stay at the Lodge for three nights before calling him after dinner to discuss the issue. Jamie was glad that at last his father wanted them to reason together. Little wonder he was so shocked to the marrow when he heard his father's verdict "Go back and show love to your wife. You MUST love her as i love you, your siblings and the people of this state even when they decamp from my party to APC and PDP." He rose and his instruction gave no room to any argument no matter how reasonable. The Governor has spoken.
Sorry to cut it here, but I want you to hear what the Governor of the Universe is saying to you and I in Hosea3:1.
His incontestable instructions are: come back to me, no matter how terrible your errors, I will forgive because I love you without conditions.
No matter what your neighbours did, that could be as bad as the picture above or worse, go back and make peace. For as you forgive so shall you be forgiven (Matt6:12)
Know you that all those times you devote your whole attention to the other gods in your life e.g money, materialism, ambitions etc without placing God in the middle of it all,you cheat on God. You become the bride in our story.
Finally, let the idea of God's constant and unconditional love not make us take His kindness for weakness but rather let it make us seek to love Him more and more in return.
