Murder
"Murder," she wrote and with that everything was said. The cloud in her head prevented her from creating a story. She stared at the sheet and couldn't think of anything worth reading.
Year after year she had written about all those murders committed. Planned murders, those done coincidentally or out of pity. Had she made any difference with her stories?
She stood up and decided to make herself a cup of tea. Waiting for the kettle she looked out of the window and noticed how people gathered around the old tree. It had been in front of her house for as long as she could remember. No one ever paid attention to it except when it lost its leaves and someone had to clean it up. What were they looking at?
The kettle whistles and automatically she filled the teapot.
Someone banged at her window.
"Please, you should call 112. There's a suicide or murder... the tree..."
Shocked she stared at the face for a second, nodded and grabbed her phone while she ran outside. Next to the corpses of nine cats, the neighbour across the street was hanging and she couldn't help thinking I'm going to figure this out. At least I have something to write about.

Thank you. It's good to know someone read and liked it. :)
I thought it was about Jessica Fletcher that that nousy detective writer 🤣
I saw her indeed. :))
What a way to find a reason to write! I liked your story, regards.
I assume most writers write or start writing because of an experience.
