Steemit Philippines - Steemit Engagement Challenge Season 8 (Week 4) || “Street Foods" My entry
Greetings! My STeemit friends. how are you all? I hope all is well and everyone is happy.
Do you like barbecues?
I do and I love them.
Every night on my barangay, Merchants sells food for the workers who just got out of their work. Some sells fresh fruits, vegetables, and roasted chickens but as one of the workers who is tired from all the day's work, I prefer having barbecues.
Here's a peek on how the best barbecues in Alae is made
One fine night, I was craving for meat and my lovely husband granted my heart's desire. Alae's best barbecues are situated adjacent to our place's land mark.
We always pass by on this area when I go home and y husband decided we stop to buy viand. We could have done our dinner in their store but we prefer eating with our kids who are waiting at home.
Here are some of the photos I took when in their store
They don't only sell barbecues but they sell grilled fish and hotdogs too, and every night, ** sold out **. at this moment of taking pictures, it is a little past 6 in the evening and there are still a lot of people looking for what they will have for dinner.
The barbecues are sold for 20 pesos, that's roughly 1.79 steem as of this moment's market price. The milkfish sells for 120-150 pesos depending on its size, that's roughly 10.4-13.43 steem, and the hotdogs sell for 10 pesos, 0.89 in steem.
To make this delicious food, the couple needed fish, porkmeat and hotdogs. The fish is cut open from the top down and is seasoned with salt, lemon grass, garlic and onions. The barbecue however is cut into small slices, marinated with salt seasonings and barbecue powder before being put in a barbecue stick for grilling.
To make their produce even more delicious, they pre-packed soysauce and kalamansi and is given for every purchase.
The business is run by a husband and wife, that's my husband with a helmet still on doing the transaction while I am busy taking pictures around. I asked if I could take pictures before taking one and the wife was a bit scared because she thought they might have violations that I will show to people or something but my husband assured I will be only using the photos for my blogs and she relaxed.
These two uniformed men are those who I said workers that just got out or their works; they are factory workers, a biscuit maker, an employee of the huge biscuit factory in our place. I am sure they are hungry and the smell of the barbecues drove them in and made them crave for some
The store actually had two grilling stations. one was for pre-grilling and the other is for the finishing touches. AlsoI think they needed this much grilling area for mass production and stocking before the rush hour begins.
We brought the barbecue home, and the kids were delighted. When it ran out, my kids asked for more. The portion of the meat, the seasoning, and the price made the barbecue famous in our place. There may be some who sells barbecue too but the portion of their servings are far smaller thus more expensive.
This will be all for my entry, thank you so much.
To God be the Glory!
